He has been pastor at St.Mary`s hospital, Montreal, chaplain of the McGill Newman Centre, pastor of St.Kevin church, Montreal, and has been 32 years a priest. He is a keen athlete and also a trained musician. He primarily enjoys playing string quartetts with some of his friends. You can expect a musical flavour to this trip. He has travelled to the Holy Land a number of times and is insistent that this be a peaceful-prayerful experience, and not a rushed trip to see ``everything possible``. He does not want over tired pilgrims, but ones who can ``taste and see that the Lord is good``. He has a deep love of scripture and desires pilgrims to enjoy a prayerful, biblical experience. A visit to the Holy land is like a walk through the scriptures in company of the Risen Jesus. YOUR ITINERARY Follow the footsteps of Jesus in an amazing journey to the Holy Land. Trace the roots of Christian tradition as you cross desert and mountains to the cities of Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Nazareth. Yesterday and today come together in this unique opportunity to deeply connect to the teachings of Christ through the land where he lived. DAY 1 Saturday, november 16th, 2019 MONTREAL TEL-AVIV Departure from Montreal to Tel Aviv on a Swiss flight, with a stopover in Zurich. DAY 2 Sunday, november 17th, 2019 TEL-AVIV ARRIVAL - TIBERIAS Meals : dinner In the afternoon arrival in Tel Aviv and transfer to your hotel.overnight in Tiberias. DAY 3 Monday, november 18th, 2019 NAZARETH - CANA Meals : breakfast, lunch, dinner Today we will visit Nazareth, where Jesus spent the first 30 years of his life (John 2:1-11). At the time a little unknown village, today Nazareth is one of the largest Arab cities in Israel. We will begin our day with a visit of the Mary of Nazareth International Centre, for a fascinating multimedia show, to rediscover the history of Christ with Mary of Nazareth. We will then visit Nazareth Village, an open air Museum that reconstructs and re-enacts village life in Galilee in the time of Jesus. Here we will enjoy a typical 1st century Galillean meal. In the afternoon we will visit the Church of the Annunciation. Overnight in Tiberias. DAY 4 Tuesday, november 19th, 2019 SEPHORIS NAZARETH - CANA In the morning we will visit Sephoris: the ancient capital of Galilee and traditional birthplace of St. Anne, with its magnificent mosaics. Back to Nazareth for a visit of Mount of Precipice, followed by Cana, where his Jesus performed his first miracle. Overnight in Tiberias. DAY 5 Wednesday, november 20th, 2019 MOUNT OF BEATITUDES TABGHA - CAPERNAUM This morning we will visit the Mt. Of Beatitudes, the traditional site of the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5-7), with its beautiful view over the lake. Continue towards Tabgha, to the Church of the Primacy (John 21). We will then drive to Capernaum. Visit the synagogue, Visit the synagogue where Jesus most certainly taught and worshipped (Matt.4: 13; Mark 3:1, 8:5 and 14), the house of St. Peter and view the ruins from the village of the Town of Jesus». We will enjoy end the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Overnight in Tiberias. DAY 6 Thursday, november 21st, 2019 BANYAS - MAGDALA Visit of the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish. From here will drive up North, to one of the sources of the Jordan River, Banyas, also known as Caesarea Philipi, where Jesus revealed himself to Simon and changed his name to Peter after asking Who do the people say is the Son of Man? (Matt. 16:13). Finally we will visit Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene. Overnight in Tiberias. DAY 7 Friday, november 22nd, 2019 JERICHO We will then drive through the Jordan Valley, to the Jordan River on the border with Jordan, where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. Followed by a visit of Jericho, the oldest city in the world that has existed for about 10,000 years. Jericho was also the scene of the Healing of a blind man (Mark 10:46-52) and the Conversion of Zaccheus (Luke 19:1-10). We will, then, proceed though the Judean desert to Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem. DAY 8 Saturday, november 23rd, 2019 BETHLEHEM A short drive will bring us to Bethlehem, the birthplace of King David and Jesus (Matt. 1: 18-25; Luke 2:1-7). The city is inhabited by one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. There we will visit the Church of the Nativity and the Shepherd s fields. In the afternoon, we will visit the Pater Noster grotto on Mt. of Olives, where Jesus taught the Lord s prayer to his disciples. Overnight in Jerusalem. 3
DAY 9 Sunday, november 24th, 2019 JERUSALEM Short drive to Mt. of Olives, the site of the Ascension of Jesus, (Acts 1:9-12), with its beautiful view over the golden city of Jerusalem and then we will walk down towards Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed in Agony (Matt. 26:30). Visit the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations. We will then drive to the Western Wall, followed by Mt. Zion, where we will visit the Cenacle, (Last Supper Room) (Matt. 26:26-30), and the Church of Peter in Gallicantu. Overnight in Jerusalem. DAY 10 Monday, november 25th, 2019 JERUSALEM We will begin our day with a visit of the Bethesda Pools. In John 5, Jesus was reported healing a man at the pool. View the St Anne Church, an impressive crusaders structure with amazing acoustics. We will then continue along the Way of Cross until the Holy Sepulchre or Church of the Resurrection, site of the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Overnight in Jerusalem. DAY 11 Tuesday, november 26th, 2019 THE DEAD SEA Today we have the possibility a memorable float in the Dead Sea, the lowest point of the earth at 420 meters below sea level. Afternoon at leisure in Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem. DAY 12 Wednesday, november 27th, 2019 TEL-AVIV MONTREAL Meals : breakfast Departure to Ben Gurion airport for your flight to Montreal on Austrian Airlines, with a stopover in Vienna.
