A from Leigh: WISE BAPTIST ASSOCIATION AUTUMN SONGFEST SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 12, 2010 4:00PM WISE BAPTIST CHURCH RECEPTION TO FOLLOW MEN S PRAYER BREAKFAST Mike Osborne will host a planning session for the WBC Men s Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, September 18 at 8:30 am in the fellowship hall. Breakfast will be served. All men are encouraged to come out and help make this an effective ministry for our church. Wednesday Night Adult Studies Wow! What a weekend! Last Friday my parents, Royce and Willene McNeal, celebrated 50 years of marriage. On Saturday my sisters and I hosted a reception for nearly 100 of their friends. It was wonderful to see people that served with dad in his previous churches come to celebrate this marvelous milestone with my parents and family. Mom and Dad have been awesome role models for Mark and me in our marriage. By example they have taught us that love is more than attraction it is respect, friendship, longing and companionship among other things. I pray that my children will find that kind of love one day. On Sunday at First Baptist Church, Monroe, GA we celebrated another milestone: my dad s retirement from full-time ministry. Dad has served on staff of a church in various capacities for 54 years. His ministry has touched so many lives especially mine. Dad s grace, humbleness, insight, wisdom, spiritual maturity, talent, organizational skills, hunger to serve, sense of humor, and love for God has helped him to be successful at every church he has served. He has demonstrated a personal relationship with God that transforms lives. He taught me and my sisters to love and honor God in everything that we do. His favorite saying to all of us was: Remember who you are and whose you are. Things like that stick with you. Dad is my go to guy for everything he is amazing. So, my parents, our family, have started a new chapter. It is a new season one that God has ordained and blessed and one that I pray will be fruitful in many ways. To God Be All Glory! Blessings, Leigh Each Wednesday at 7:00p.m. Beginning September 1 Parenting the Early Years: Ten Biblical Traits Your Kids Will Remember You For Teaching Kit by Drs. Caring Friends is a group of ladies who meet every Monday at the church to make quilts for the Patients at the Cancer Center undergoing chemo treatments. The group is in it s 4th year and they make on average 50 quilts per year. Donations from the lunch will be used for purchasing supplies such as batting, backing, etc. Also, if you have any unused material, yarn, thread etc. these items would be greatly appreciated and put to good use.
