WELCOME Welcome to Faith Mennonite Church. We are glad you are with us this day. Please welcome Heidi R K, who is preaching today for Pastor Marshall s Installation. Heidi is Conference Minister for Western District Conference (Mennonite Church USA), with churches in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas. Along with her work, she enjoys music, reading, gardening, walking, traveling, and cooking. Heidi is married to David Kreider and they have two young adult sons. If you need a listening assistance device or a large print bulletin, please ask an Usher. RECEPTION OF NEW MEMBERS Today we will receive Marshall and Lindsay A into membership. In preparation, both were asked to briefly introduce themselves to Faith Church. Marshall writes, I was born and raised in Lindsborg, KS, but moved to Inman for high school. I grew up in the Lutheran faith, and chose to become a Mennonite as an adult. In 2005, God called me into pastoral ministry. This calling has transformed our family. We have been blessed to be a part of Bethel Mennonite Inman, KS, North Leo Mennonite Leo, IN, and Fairhaven Mennonite Fort Wayne, IN. I am very excited to see what God may do in our midst as I serve along side Pastor Rachel and you, our church family, at Faith Mennonite Church. Thank you for welcoming us into your community. Lindsay writes, I grew up in the Inman community and attended Bethel Mennonite Church. I have been a stay at home mom for the last 13 years. I enjoy being very active in the work of the church including compassionate service, music, and children s activities. I am excited by the emphasis I see on Anabaptist distinctives here at Faith and I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of your community. FAITH CHURCH FAMILY NEWS WORSHIP IN THE PARK Is next Sunday, June 25, 2017. To celebrate VBS join us for Worship in the Park, 10:00 am, followed by a potluck picnic meal. Please meet in Athletic Park (Athletic Park Dr & Park Pl, Newton, KS), by the Mennonite statue near the gazebo. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and a food item to share! (Please bring food items that can withstand outside temperatures.) VBS Begins this Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 6:30 pm. Registration forms available on the table in the foyer. See Leslie H for more details. NAME TAGS Are being encouraged for the remainder of the summer in order to help the Andersons get to know us. This morning, you will find your name tag in your church mailbox. Instead of returning it to the table in the foyer following each service and/or meeting, please keep your name tag in your mailbox. We will collect them all at the end of the summer. If you do not have a name tag, blank ones are available on the table in the foyer. (We will not use name tags next Sunday for Worship in the Park.)
