LEADERSHIP NOOK Sunday, April 12, 2014 was an exciting day in the life of Faith Community Fellowship! Following a beautiful combined worship service, FCF members were presented the opportunity to vote to affirm the Search Team and Leadership s recommendation of Mike Kager as our new Lead Pastor. Who will ever forget Todd Peterson s announcement of the really close vote, following it up with the actual vote count of 142-0!! Leadership is very pleased to inform you that Pastor Mike officially accepted the call at the monthly meeting of Leadership on Monday, April 13, 2014. ** Mark your calendars now for Sunday, May 3rd! ** There will be one COMBINED worship service at 10:00 a.m. for the formal installation of Pastor Mike as Lead Pastor. Light refreshments will be served following the service. Moving forward, we want to note the following items and dates prior to the Annual Congregational meeting in May: (1) Copies of the proposed 2015-16 budget are now available at the kiosk for your review. Wednesday, May 6 th @ 6:00 pm Budget Hearing Meeting If you have any questions concerning the proposed budget, this meeting offers a question and answer opportunity (2) The slate of Elders for the 2015-16 Leadership Team is listed below. The FCF Constitution sets forth the procedure if any one of these persons should not serve in this capacity: a person must submit to the Lead Pastor any biblical reason, written and signed, whether any of these person (s) would be ineligible. Please place any concerns in Pastor Mike s mailbox by May 3 rd. Sharon Bolitho Matt Fahrni Mike Petcavage Todd Peterson Wayne Proudfoot Mike Rousos Tom Wilgus Pastor Mike We are still in need of one more people to serve on the team. Please pray for God to raise up another leader to fill this vacancy, and if God is calling YOU to serve as Elder, we ask that you let Pastor Mike or a current Elder know. FCF Leadership Team Sunday, May 17, 2014 @ 7:00 pm Annual congregational meeting At this meeting, the slate of Elders for the 2015-16 Leadership Team will be presented, and a vote will be taken on the proposed 2015-16 budget. Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17

My call to this church actually began in 2005. Thank you! I had felt God calling me elsewhere in the summer of 2005. I began praying and seeking His guidance and direction for this prompting I had sensed. I spoke with a friend about a potential opening that would be coming available at a church. I began to work on my resume. I had the opportunity in the spring of 2006 to interview twice for the position. I felt at peace with how both interviews went. Then the waiting started. I continued to pray and trust God had a plan. He sure did. I received a call from Tom Seeman. He said the search team would like to offer me the position. I was excited. God had confirmed what began in the summer of 2005. For almost 9 years now, I and my family have been so blessed to be a part of this family here at Faith Community Fellowship. I cannot put into words how amazing it is to be among people who get it and who have a heart to reach people for Jesus. You do not just talk about your faith; you live it. Thank you for praying, supporting, and being there for my family. Thank you for continuing to have a heart to share Jesus with this world. I have been sensing the call to pastor a church for a few years. I have been walking through doors God had opened, but the doors closed. In my heart, I knew where I and my family wanted to be, here at FCF. Thank you for unanimously voting me as your Lead Pastor. To be honest, I was taken aback by the vote. God came through and gave us the desire of our hearts. The vote was the icing on the cake of His confirmation. As we move forward, I believe God has big plans for His church. I believe God wants to...to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us Ephesians 3:20. At our annual congregational meeting, we are going to be dealing with some family business but also celebrate what God has been doing and look forward toward what is next. May we thank Him for how good He has been and how He will continue to move as we seek to be faithful! Are you ready? Are you excited to see what God continues to do here? I am.

Prayer concert At 6 p.m. before the Annual Congregational Meeting on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 7 p.m. Words cannot express how thankful Joanne and I are for our years at FCF and for the wonderful dinner, the Leadership Team sponsored. We enjoyed so much the many conversations, comments, and laughs that occurred throughout the evening. I was especially grateful for the expressions of appreciation regarding Joanne...throughout our years in ministry she has not only been supportive in the background, but also served out of her own gifts right there in the foreground! One thing James and Cindy mentioned - and TJ would have said this also had he been able to be there - was how much they too appreciated the church. A great gift that FCF has extended to us was support as a family. Not once did our children ever feel like they were being put into a "pastor's kid" mold or be anything other than whom they truly were. As a result, they each have a deep faith in Christ and continue to be active in a local church. Among the many debts of gratitude that I owe FCF, that one I know will endure right at the top along with many others. Thank you, FCF, for the privilege of serving in your midst. May God's richest blessings continue to abide upon you, Pastor Mike, and everyone there as you continue to follow God's call to live and proclaim His love through His Son. The 2014-15 AWANA year came to a close Wednesday April 15th at the awards and appreciation dinner with 210 guests present. This year we welcomed several new families and many returning families. Our average attendance per night during the year was 90 kids and 30 adult volunteers. Thank you to the many volunteers that make this ministry possible. I have had so many parents approach me with comments such as My kids love AWANA, thank you and My kids get so upset if we don t have AWANA one week. As a team of staff and volunteers we are planting seeds for Christ and actually getting to see some of those seeds grow. I feel so blessed to be a part of this ministry and the FCF family. The support that I feel from leadership and congregation is amazing. I would like to take a moment to recognize the staff that I am honored to work alongside. The children s ministry staff is a TEAM effort and our team works well together but most importantly share the same heart for Jesus. Jen, Amelia, Kelly and Bill - thank you for working, supporting, loving (even when I m not the most loveable), and praying for me. Most importantly thank you for sharing your passion to serve Christ through kids. A special thank you to Pastor Dave thank you for giving me this opportunity and your wise counsel through the years. Another special thank you to Pastor Mike, who believed in me first and is continuously pushing me to step out of my comfort zone and guiding me as I do this. In closing, I ask that you keep the children s ministry and the AWANA program surrounded in prayer. If you feel the Lord is leading you to volunteer in the AWANA ministry please feel free to talk to any of us. Thank you, Laura Miller

Birthday: August 7 Family Background: Bob and I have been married for 55 years this summer. We have 3 daughters, Kristen, Linda and Julie, 3 sons-inlaw, 14 grandchildren. How long have you been volunteering in FCF s Children s Ministry and what areas do you volunteer in? I ve volunteered through the years in Bible school, cooking for Awana, helping in the nursery. What is your favorite part about volunteering? Just being around the children in our church gives me my kid fix as my family all lives out of town. What is your favorite memory verse? I have several favorites, but one that amazes me is the last verse of the gospel of John where he uses language to describe the awesomeness of Jesus... Jesus did many other things as well. If everyone of them were written down, I suppose even the whole world would not have room for the books that would have been written. What are your hobbies? I enjoy spending time with our family & friends, photography, reading, and scrapbooking,. Joan thank you for all you do for our Ministry!!!!
