LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE Because of Bethlehem, we can remember the arrival of the promised Messiah. Spend time over the next 25 days thining about one of these Bible verses each day leading up to Christmas. Print this page, cut out each day s verse, and put it some place you ll see it several times a day. If you have time, rewrite each verse in your ournal or on a notecard, remembering the promises both spoen and fulfilled in each scripture. DAY 7 DAY 5 DAY 3 DAY 1 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to tae Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1:20 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her! Lue 1:45 DAY 8 DAY 6 DAY 4 DAY 2 But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times. Micah 5:2 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Matthew 1:18 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21 The angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. Lue 1:30-31

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE So Joseph also went up from the town of DAY 15 DAY 13 DAY 11 DAY 9 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taen of the entire Roman world. Lue 2:1 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born. Lue 2:6 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, eeping watch over their flocs at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. Lue 2: 8-9 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Lue 2:11-12 DAY 16 DAY 14 DAY 12 DAY 10 Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. Lue 2:4-5 She gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. Lue 2:7 But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great oy for all the people. Lue 2:10 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. Lue 2:17-18

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE DAY 23 DAY 21 DAY 19 DAY 17 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. Lue 2:19 Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests. Lue 2:14 When they saw the star, they were overoyed. Matthew 2:10 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14 DAY 24 DAY 22 DAY 20 DAY 18 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were ust as they had been told. Lue 2:20 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and ased, Where is the one who has been born ing of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him. Matthew 2:1-2 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, franincense and myrrh. Matthew 2:11 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 DAY 25 Give thans to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

GIVE Because of Bethlehem, we ve been given the ultimate gift a savior who understands us. You can consider about how this gift has changed your life as you give to those in need with a reverse Advent calendar. Each day for 25 days set aside one item to be given to a local charity or food ban. Kids may have fun picing one unopened item out of the pantry or choosing a toy they haven t played with recently. Get the whole family involved by decorating a box to collect the goods you ll donate. Leave the box in an area where you ll regularly see it, and every time you do, spend a moment thaning God for the gifts he s given you. After 25 days, deliver your donations, and mae it an event for everyone in your household.

SHARE Because of Bethlehem, we have so much to be thanful for a friend in heaven and a savior who redeems us, to name a few. This season express your gratitude by sharing the Good News and something sweet with friends and neighbors. If you have time, prepare a special treat from your itchen to theirs. Pacage up your famous banana bread or best homemade fudge and share it with those you now. This is a great time to get the whole family involved. Get help preparing, decorating, and wrapping from everyone in the house. And as you re woring together, share some things that you re thanful for this year. No time to bae? Wrap up a bundle of candy canes or buy a box of chocolates. Then be sure to attach one of these tags to remember why we celebrate. WE RE SWEET ON YOU ON THIS Christmas Because of Bethlehem... I bring you good news of great oy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Lue 2:10-11 WE RE SWEET ON YOU ON THIS Christmas Because of Bethlehem... I bring you good news of great oy that will be for all the people. WORSHIP Because of Bethlehem, the whole world sings about Christ. Radio stations will spend an entire month playing Christmas carols. Instead of tuning out when you hear a song you ve heard a thousand times, really focus on the lyrics to the old hymns. As yourself some ey questions lie: What does the promise of God and sinners reconciled mean for you? How are you receiving your ing, as Joy to the World implores? Joy to the world the Lord is come, Let earth receive her King. How can you invite Jesus to be near as in Away in the Manger? When you hear a Christmas carol, use the opportunity to worship the God who sent his Son to earth. Sing loudly as the angels did of the oy of this precious gift. Charles Wesley, 1739 Har!
