QUICK NEWS JULY 2018 As you know last week we returned from our Annual State Aerie Convention. A big thank you to those that attended. Our Conventions would be meaningless without your participation and support. Our Eagles Charities once again did big. We have the most generous State when it comes to donating to worthy causes. Here are a few things that you would like to know. Contingency Winners $2,000.00 Joseph Gross, Bayview Aerie #2323 tix #09270 $1,000.00 Annie Taylor, St Marys, GA Auxiliary tix #22642 $500.00 Linda Gatlin, Paradise Auxiliary #2960 tix #14615 $100.00 Virgil Clyse, Santa Maria Aerie #1745 tix 08434 $100.00 Peter W. Ackers, Folsom Aerie #929 tix #15937 $100.00 Edith Calvin, Roseville Aerie #1582 tix #11751 $100.00 Redwood City Aerie #418 tix #23171 $100.00 Ontario Aerie #2398 tix 09714 Past State President s Eagle of the Year William Metz, South Gate Aerie #2080 Hall of Fame Class 2018 Lloyd Green, Orland Aerie #2728 Jeffery Hawkins, Oroville #196 Leroy Rogers, Santee Aerie #3973 James Grosser, Azusa Aerie #2810 I want to thank the Brothers and Sisters from our neighboring States, Nevada and Arizona it is always nice to see them at our Convention. This year was a little different for us at the Double Tree Hotel. They are in the process of remodeling the facility and with that cam a few inconveniences and interruptions. I encourage all of the delegation to look into future Convention sites that could hold our Convention. After I return from Grand Convention I will put together a requirement sheet for the site. Last but certainly not least at our coming Grand Convention in Dallas, TX our Sister Althea Lane will be installed as the new Grand Madam President. Althea has made us all proud of her in her climb to the top of the Grand Auxiliary. Our Brother Peter W. Ackers is currently serving as Grand Conductor and we are supporting him to continue through the chairs. Brother, Peter has represented us all very well over the past couple years. Hope to see many of you in Dallas. Until I return and the New Officers get settled in. Devere Dunham, Secretary Please see all attachments

Greetings Brothers! Well, another Eagle's year is beginning and I think it will be a very good one indeed. I do not have a membership report this month, as I will not have access to the MMS until after Grand Convention. For those who did not get a chance to attend this year's State Convention, State President Ed Millard's goal for membership this year is 2500 new and re-enrolled members. I know we can beat that. Let's show Ed what we can do together. I've opened a new email account specifically for communication about membership. It's calmembershipchairman@gmail.com. Please direct questions, comments, and suggestions to that email address. I've also included a copy of the Membership Awards Flyer for you to look at. There are some great awards available, including a 64gb tablet computer. I'm hoping that we can give several of these away this year. On another note, Ed and I have issued a challenge to raise $50,000 between Aerie and Auxiliary for the Jimmy Durante Children's Fund this year. If we can do that, I will let someone cut off my ponytail at next year's State Convention. We raised around $2,000 the very first day while still at Convention! I KNOW I'm getting a haircut next June. :) That's all for now. I hope to see you all on the Eagle Road sometime very soon, Robert Prieto CA State Membership Chairman calmembershipchairman@gmail.com 408-655-8113
