The last parish directory was published back in 2002. We need an update--especially because we have so many new parishioners. This is an excellent opportunity and participation is strongly encouraged! Michael will be taking photos again on Saturday, April 9 after 4 p.m. Mass and Sunday, April 10 after 9 a.m. Mass. Photos will be taken in the Confessional Room. Digital Photos are for registered St. Anne s parishioners and will be used only for the Parish Directory. (This will replace the printed color photo directory we ve had in the past due to costs.)there is no cost to the parishioners (Option to purchase prints available). St. Anne Garden Club Spring Meeting Everyone is invited to the St. Anne Garden Club spring meeting to be held at the Windmill restaurant on Tuesday, April 5th at 9:00 a.m. We will be discussing our annual plant sale to be held in May, as well as our weekly gardening schedule and new projects for the coming year. Catholic Charities Fundraiser The Father Robert Lee Memorial Wine and Hors d'oeuvres Fundraiser to benefit Catholic Charities of the Quad City Area will be held on Friday, April 15 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Short Hills Country Club-2500 11 th Street in East Moline, Illinois. Tickets are $50 per person or $350 for a table of eight. The event will include wine tasting, hors d oeuvres, silent and live auctions. All proceeds from this event will benefit Catholic Charities programs which serve those living in the Quad Cities area. Lenten Fish Fry The Our Lady of Guadalupe Blessed Fr. Pro Men s Club will host a Lenten Fish Fry on Friday, April 1st in the Parish Center at Our Lady of Guadalupe. The hours of the Fish Fry are from 4 pm until 7:30 pm. The price will be $8 per adult, $5 per child 6-12, children under 6 free. Family price is $25.00. A family consists of children 17 years old or younger and their Mother & Father. The menu will consist of deep fried whole catfish or shrimp or a combination of both, baked potato, Texas Toast and an all you care to eat salad bar. Coffee or milk included in price. Grilled cheese and macaroni and cheese will be also available. PLAY BALL!! When you see a ball player make the Sign of the Cross do you wonder if he is really Catholic? Are there ball players who are actually Extraordinary Ministers of Communion? On Sunday, April 3rd at 1 PM we will show "Champions of Faith" this DVD features interviews with baseball players and managers who are Catholic and do live their faith, and in some instances struggle to follow the Lord. We'll provide the peanuts, bring your own Cracker Jacks! Attention Wings Members: We will not be having our April Wings meeting due to Confirmation at St. Anne Parish on that night. Plan on attending our next meeting which will be on May 5th at 6:30.We will be planning our annual Wings Mass which is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th at the 4:00pm Mass. We would like as many of our members as possible to participate in celebrating the Mass on that evening. Also, we want to thank all the ladies who attended our last meeting and helped make the beautiful fleece blankets. Altogether we were able to deliver 20 blankets to The Children's Home in Peoria. We appreciate all who participated in this special service project. Wheelchairs St. Anne parish has two wheel chairs that may be used if needed by people attending Mass. If someone needs to use one when entering or leaving the Church, please let Deacon Jim or one of the ushers know. There is no charge to use them, all we ask is that you return them so others may have use of them also. Delivery is available. Make Way for Easter Baskets! If you took a egg with needed items for Easter Baskets for children in the Catholic Charities Foster Care Program, please return the items that you are donating to the gray tubs located near the side altars in the front of church at St. Anne by March 27th. Bake Sales Umm, Umm, Good! And for a Good Cause! All God s Children Religious Education Program will be holding a bake sale with all proceeds going to benefit Fr. Charles and Fr. Tony s schools in Africa and to aid an innocent family who lost their mother to the recent violence in Mexico. Our Lady of Guadalupe will host a bake sale on Sunday, April 3 rd after the 7:30 and 10:30 Masses. If you can donate a special item to help our students raise funds for these causes, please bring it to the vestibule of OLG Church before the 7:30 Mass on April 3 rd. Thank you for the example you give our young people through your generosity in supporting these outreach programs. St. Anne Parish Market Day The new Market Day order forms are available at each entrance of the church. Order deadline is March 30. Thank you for your continued support of St. Anne Parish by ordering Market Day! Caring Companions Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Peoria is recruiting volunteers in the Rock Island area for our Caring Companions Program. The program aims to improve the quality of life for isolated seniors by providing companionship, transportation, and help maintaining connections within their communities. Trained volunteers will visit identified seniors a minimum of once a week for 1-3 hours. If you are interested in volunteering or know of a senior in need of this service, please contact Nancy Swanson at 309.755.7341 Pancake Breakfast Mary Our Lady of Peace Church in Orion will hold a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, April 10 from 7 am to 1 pm. A monetary donation will be asked for at the door. Raffle items will also be available during the event and the drawing will be held at 12:30. All proceeds will be donated to the Women s Choice Center in Bettendorf. Foresters Meeting The National Catholic Society of Foresters Court 1017 will meet in the hall at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 5. All Foresters as well as anyone wishing to be a social member are invited to join the group for fellowship and charitable works. Our Lady of Guadalupe Easter Egg Hunt Beginning March 26th through April 10th we will be collecting candy for the Easter Egg Hunt at Our Lady of Guadalupe on Easter Sunday. Please only wrapped candy that will fit in a plastic egg. No suckers or hard candy please. Thank you for your help. Pro Life Mass The April Prolife Mass is at St. Paul the Apostle, 916 E. Rusholme St. Davenport on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Mass will be at 8:30AM with a Rosary following Mass in the church and then in front of Planned Parenthood.

Peoria Catholic Men s March, May 14, 2011 Saturday, May 14, be sure to set this date aside. Our Lady of Guadalupe parish Blessed Fr. Pro Men s Club has chartered a bus to Peoria for the annual diocesan Catholic Men s March. Bus departure time is 7:00 am from the parking lot of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Return time to Silvis is approximately 3:30 pm. Bus tickets are on sale now in the church office ($20.00 each) with payment due at the time of the order. Anyone under the age of 17 who accompanies their parent/guardian on this trip, their ticket will be paid for by the Blessed Fr. Pro Men s Club. To purchase tickets please call Jackie, church secretary at 792-3867. This offer is open to all men in the Quad City area. SPEC Spaghetti Dinner SPEC, Special Persons Encounter Christ, will hold their annual Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, April 9 from 4 to 7 pm at Culeman s Hall, 1400 16th Ave. Moline. The cost of the dinner is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12, children under 5 are free. Each dinner ticket will give you a chance on a $100 prize. Raffle tickets for several other prizes will be available at the dinner. The members of the SPEC Board would like to thank you for your continued support of our program.
