Summary information Repository: Title: ID: Dates of creation, revision and deletion: Administrative history / Biographical sketch Note Albert George Jacobi (1898-1976) was a Lutheran pastor, and president of the Eastern Canada Synod, United Lutheran Church in America. Jacobi was born in Waterloo, Ontario on December 14, 1898. He graduated from Waterloo Lutheran Seminary in 1921, and was ordained at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. He served the following parishes: Conquerall, Nova Scotia; Morrisburg-Riverside, Ontario; Rose Bay, Nova Scotia; St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Kitchener, Ontario ; Zion Lutheran Church, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; St. James Lutheran Church, Renfrew, Ontario. At the 1953 convention of Synod, held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Ontario, Jacobi was elected President of the Eastern Canada Synod, United Lutheran Church in America. He served in this role until 1961. Albert Jacobi married Thelma Rafuse in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia on October 8, 1928. Rev. Jacobi died in Kitchener, Ontario on October 15, 1976. A memorial service was held a St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Kitchener, and was buried at Parkview Cemetery in Waterloo, Ontario. Scope and content The fonds consists of sermons, address, a scrapbook, publications and other material created and accumulated by Albert Jacobi throughout his career.
