February is the month dedicated to The Holy Family The entire month of February falls within the liturgical season of Ordinary Time which is represented by the liturgical colour green. Activity of the Month Learn about the Presentation of Our Lord/Candlemas Traditionally during Candlemas people would take candles to Church to have them blessed by the Priest. Candlemas is the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple. Take time to read this story in your bible. February 10th - 5 th Sunday in Ordinary Time In this Gospel we learn of Peter and the Apostles fishing through the night. February 17th - 6 th Sunday in Ordinary Time Jesus relates the Beatitudes in this Gospel. February 24th - 7th Sunday in Ordinary Time In this Gospel Jesus teaches us to love our enemies.
Lent Bible Study Throughout Lent we would like to welcome back our Year 2 children to Bible Study sessions. More information will be given nearer the time. Our Lady of La Salette Prayer Group Every Wednesday lunch time, we will be holding a Novena to Our Lady of La Salette. Our Lady of La Salette holds a special place in our hearts as our parish priests are La Salette Missionaries. The Novena will take the form of scripture, Mary s words, meditation and collective prayer. Please see Mrs Barnes, or any of the Pupil Chaplains for more details. February Visit to The Nazareth Rooms The Story of Creation We are looking forward to visiting the Nazareth Rooms this month to share the Creation story. As usual we will be accompanied by our faithful friends the Noah s Ark Puppets.
St Josephine Bakhita Patron Saint of Victims of Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery Friday 8 th February is the Feast Day of St Josephine Bakhita the patron saint of victims of human trafficking and modern slavery. It is also the International Day of Prayer and Awareness against Human Trafficking. Our Justice and Peace Prayer Group will be holding special prayers on this day. World Day of Prayer for the Sick Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes Monday 11 th February is the World Day of Prayer for the sick. We are going to be visiting classes to ask children to remember all those who are sick in their prayers. We will also be holding a special rosary session in 6A at 1pm Anyone who is interested please see any pupil chaplain or Mrs Barnes.
The Chair of St Peter 22 nd February This is a special day in the catholic calendar as we remember St Peter, who was our first Pope. Pope Benedict XVI described the chair as a symbol of the special mission of Peter and his Successors to tend Christ s flock, keeping it united in faith and in charity.
