A Bi-Annual Publication of the Community Pregnancy Center Summer/Fall 2011 This year s Annual WalkFor-Life Fundraiser on April 16 was a rousing success at Smith Park in Middletown despite the gray clouds and umbrellas. The crowd was energetic and entertained as our various singing groups and performers did their magic from the City s Showmobile. Nearly 300 Walkers attended and we raised over $32,000 toward our prolife cause. Special thanks to all our Board members who participated in making snacks and providing refreshments for the event. We are grateful to our many sponsors who paid for the Walk for Life 2011 Sponsors TV Middletown covered the event and WFCJ s Bill Nance was our Emcee for the day. We thank them for their coverage of the event. The Annual Baby Crawl was rained out but sunny dispositions prevailed. We are so thankful to the Lord for making provision for us and we could never do it without our wonderful volunteer workers and donors! From the Executive Director A few years ago, a woman approached me to tell me about her abortion experience. She had married an abusive husband and the two of them had moved several states away from her family and her hometown. She had found out she was pregnant early in the marriage and on Valentine s Day, he drove her to an abortion clinic and forced her to have an abortion. She was 5 months pregnant and was carrying twin sons. Since that time, they had divorced and she had experienced many difficult relationships in her personal life. She was never able to conceive afterward and now, she was middle-aged and alone. I prayed with the woman and assured her that Jesus Christ could make all things new. I referred her to our 10-week post-abortion counseling program and I await what God will restore in her mind and heart in coming months. Sometimes, lives are hinged together with pain and sorrow and devastation. Where does that leave us as Christians? The only thing we can offer is hope and love. Only God can begin recovery and rejuvenation in a person s life and I am thankful that the Pregnancy Center exists for women such as the one I mentioned above. I worry constantly that I am not a very good listener. And so, I look to the One who listened the best to people who were desperate. Christ s most significant characteristic was that He was absolutely transparent and He had only one agenda.he desired that each of us would freely take His gift of everlasting life and hope purchased for us by His death and resurrection. But then, that s really offering someone everything, isn t it? Awaiting His soon return, Candice R. Keller From the P.A.C.E. Director Often when I share with others that I work with post abortive women, I can see the pain in their face. I can sense the topic is way beyond their comfort zone. The truth is the post abortive program is a much needed and truly amazing program. The reality of abortion is that 43% of women by age 45 have had one. And, not only are these women directly affected, but countless others are damaged by it. These would be the fathers, grandparents and siblings of the aborted. If you follow the political debate, you will notice everyone talks about abortion, but not one woman talks about her own abortion. It is too painful. The reason the program is so amazing is that when a woman recognizes her need and she comes to the center whether broken, depressed, or burdened by the weight of her loss, she is able to tackle these issues. She is able to work through the denial, anger, guilt and forgiveness issues. You see her countenance change, and you hear the depression lift from her voice. You witness the Lord through his word lighten the burden, and begin the restoration process. She discovers the wonderful ways of God s truth. There may be times of darkness in the future, but the darkness no longer holds the upper hand. The power of the past is diminished. The program is a gift and blessing to hurting women. If you have experienced this loss, I encourage you to reach out and take the opportunity to move toward healing and freedom. Cathy Ransom

Here at the Community Pregnancy Center, we receive many donations throughout each year. Some of the most precious gifts we can give to clients are the kind with a personal touch, like the blanket Christa Scharinger from Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church made for this little girl. She couldn t have been happier with her pretty, pink blanket. Christa s gifts put smiles on faces and warm hearts. Linda Salyers from Community Harvest Church in Germantown is another one of our blanket ladies. Linda sews year round and delivers more amazing blankets for our clients. The ladies at First Baptist Church of Middletown have also delivered beautiful, handmade blankets to us. What a blessing this is to us, and may God richly bless these ladies in return.

Princess Within (girls ages 12-18) This camp, for teen girls, is for those young ladies who truly want to live like a princess from the inside out! An amazing journey of discovering their God given destiny as daughter of The Great King and what that means for their life! June 20-24 9:30am-12pm July 18-22 9:30am-12pm August 1-5 4:30pm-6:00pm (Evening Session) August 15-19 9:30am-12pm Note: Field Trip will be on the Wednesdays of Princess Camp. We will be heading to Springboro for the Underground railroad tour!
