Find more info and register online at www.westviewlife.org/snowblast Year End Donations Reminder As the calendar year quickly draws to an end (only 2 Sundays left in December), it is a good time to consider your year-end donations. All donations received by December 31, 2018 are eligible for 2018 tax receipts that will be issued in February. (donations made through Pushpay by December 27, 2018 would also be receipted for 2018.) On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at Westview, I want to thank you for the financial support that you have given throughout the year. This is an essential form of worship, trusting God that as you tithe, He will enable you to wisely steward the resources that He has entrusted to you. Please prayerfully consider what the Lord would have you give to Westview before the end of the year. If you are not currently contributing by Pre-Authorized Donations (PADs), please prayerfully consider signing up. Information and forms are available at the Welcome Centre Desk. PADs provide a regular stream of donations that help Westview meet its financial commitments throughout the year. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NLT) Peter Kotiuga, Treasurer Remembering Our Missionaries at Christmas We are seeking to let our Missionaries know their church family remembers them; that they are on our hearts at Christmas - whether they are near, or far away. Thank you for choosing one of our missionaries, and sending a note that could include one, or some, of the following: expressing words of appreciation, care, support, encouragement, words of prayer, blessing, encouragements from Scripture. Please visit our website at westviewlife.org to see the list of our Missionaries and how you can connect with them. You can also get a contact card for a missionary at the lobby table this Sunday. Kitchen Renovations Updates We have counters installed & the island is back in place! We are just waiting on some plumbing to be completed. 2 2

Awana Congratulations to the Awana clubbers for their hard work during the Ice Cream Sundae contest. Over 900 verses were memorized in 6 weeks by the clubbers aged from 3yrs old to Grade 6. The harder they worked, the more toppings they earned. Last Sunday we celebrated by serving over 150 Sundaes! Please pray that the Lord would change the children s lives through memorizing these Bible verses. Awana resumes on January 6, 2019. la Corde - Breakfast Program Westview supports la Corde with their breakfast program by having a team go in every other Wednesday. We would love to have another person (or 2 or more!) join our team so we can spend more time getting to know these amazing kids better and investing in their lives. We are there from 7am for about an hour ( it can be a bit less if you need to head out earlier) and serve a basic breakfast before sending them off to school with a snack and a smile knowing we care about them. It can be loud and crazy at times but we are making a difference in the lives of these kids. We d love to have you join us, either every 2 weeks, once a month or even just once if you want to see what it s like. We restart January 16th. Please e mail me to find out more or catch me in the lobby before or after church. Thanks, Cheryl Hamby Cheryl.hamby69@yahoo.ca 3
Excerpts from recent Missionary Newsletters DeWit Family Update Life A!er BrightStart When we left BrightStart September 9th, we were thrown into uncertainty. We weren't sure of many things. We arrived unemployed, houseless, no transportation. We knew we had a place to stay though. We all crammed into Amy's condo and enjoyed some much-needed family time. Fast forward to December 10th, God provided everything we gave up We live in a small village called Bainsville, only about 50 homes, much like our old village in Cambodia except 1st world instead of the 3rd world. We are about 40 minutes to Montreal, 25 minutes to the West Island of Montreal. We are loving the simple life in God's nature and beauty. We may have left Cambodia but Cambodia has not left us. Five years of relationships have a lifelong impact. Besides all of the memories we have, we have built some amazing friendships that continue to go strong To read the full version of the Dewit s newsletter & receive future ones, please email John DeWit at : john.dewit@live.com Update From Angelica Langlais Dear Westview Family, Christmas time is such a wonderful and exciting season, but it can also get very busy...so I want to take a short time to celebrate a few of the things that recently happened and wish you happy holidays and connect before I head on the ship in January! Last newsletter I was informing you and inviting you to come to the Global Christianity Weekend at People's Church to hear about the project that we have to bring solar panels into health centres in Papua New Guinea. Our target was to raise $10,000 to acquire 5 solar kits and to my great joy and excitement, the target was reached and exceeded through the generosity of People's Church and those who have donated to support the project! A grand total of $12,000 was raised, which will help 6 health centres with a solar kit! To get & read the full version of Angelica s newsletter as well as receive future newsletters, please email her at: angelica.langlais@gmail.com This is a double edition of E-life covering the Christmas Holidays. Our next E-Life newsletter will be published on January 3rd, 2019. 4
