BULLETIN NOTES From the Senior Pastor Search Committee Last week the Search Committee sent the Leadership Expectations Survey to those with email addresses on file with the church. Surveys are also available in the Central Street lobby. Please take a few minutes to complete a survey, your feedback is most important to us as we begin the search process. We ask that you complete these by Tuesday, April 22nd. Easter Offering - One Great Hour of Sharing Easter Sunday, April 20 In addition to our morning offering, the Service Ministry is sponsoring a special offering to One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS). One Great Hour of Sharing, the refugee, relief and development offering of the United Church of Christ, transforms lives through health, education, agricultural and emergency relief initiatives in 138 countries. Please place your cash or check donations in the OGHS envelopes found in the pews and at the doors on Easter Sunday. Make checks payable to Wellesley Congregational Church and indicate "OGHS" in the memo section. Would you like to deliver an Easter plant? The Community Deacons wish to share in the spirit of Easter by encouraging Village Church members and friends to participate in the delivering of an Easter plant after the 11 am Easter worship service. Delivering flowers to people can be a great source of joy. If you wish to help deliver Easter greetings from our church please email Diane Anderson at diane@wellesleyvillagechurch.org. You may also just come up to the chancel after the service to pick up a plant and a card with the name and address of a recipient. Thank you for helping to share the Good News of Easter! Wellesley Day of Service The Village Church Service Ministry is participating in the Wellesley Day of Service will you join us? Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 4, and help us as we join in the first annual town-wide day of service. We re especially looking for volunteers to help with the food drive we can use helpers to encourage shoppers to buy for the food pantry at Roche Brothers and Whole Foods and drivers to take donations to the food pantry between 1 and 3 pm. Volunteer Opportunity The Village Church Wedding Committee is looking for volunteers to serve at weddings that take place in our church. Christian Service Scholarship The Village Churchwomen offer a scholarship each year to a member of the congregation who is pursuing graduate studies in preparation for a religious vocation. What s happening in Church School today? Kindergarten students and younger will be welcomed in their classrooms before 10 am worship begins. The Infant/Toddler Room is located on the main floor just outside the Sanctuary to the left of the Chancel. 2 year olds through Kindergarten classrooms are located on the upper floor. Children should be picked up promptly at the conclusion of worship. Grades 1-8 will worship with their parents until it is time for class, as indicated in the bulletin. At that time, Grades 1 5 will meet at the signs downstairs in Village Hall and proceed to the following classrooms for a special activity. This week... Grade 1: Artisans Market Grade 2: Fishes and Loaves Cafe Grade 3: Storyteller s Tent Grade 4: Science Room Grade 5: Games in Village Hall All Babson Participants, Grades 6 8 and Junior Choir will meet in the Choir Room. Classes for Grades 1 8 conclude at 11:15 or the end of worship whichever is later. Students in Grades 3 and below should be met by their parents at their classrooms. The Family Room is available for parents who aren t quite ready to leave their infants and toddlers in childcare.
