To the extent that no two persons are exactly alike in every way, everyone is born special and extra-ordinary. By extension, therefore, every person is naturally, uniquely talented and equipped in one way or another. However, while some realize and deploy their talents, many others allow theirs to lie dormant, undeveloped and unproductive. There are limiting tendencies that hold people back from realizing and/or maximizing the full potentials hidden in their talents. As believers, we have been made free from every such bondage and limitations for he who the Son has made free is free indeed. One way God expects us to shine our lights in the world is by using our talents for the benefit of His Kingdom and for humanity at large. Today's outline focuses on recognizing and overcoming the factors that hinder us from maximizing our potentials. Discussion 1. What are the reasons why people fail to realize or maximize their potentials? Discuss Note 2. God endows each one of us with different talents to enable all to serve in different capacities and excel at what they do. Viewing and appreciating our talents from God's perspective frees us from limiting mindsets to pursue the unlimited potentials therein. Below are some tips to help us overcome limitations to maximizing our potentials: 1) Believe God has deposited a gift in you. Identify it and be grateful. Gen 1:26-28 2) Overcome all fears and negative thoughts by faith from God's Word. 1 John 5:4 3) Develop skills and competence around your talent. Prov. 22:29 4) Walk in the consciousness that you are free from every form of limitations Gal 6:1 5) Develop Godly habits, attitudes and values for effectiveness. Gal 5:22-23 The greatest limitation to the expression of any talent is in the 'mind'. The level at which we operate in life is based on the state of our minds. Your mind can either be imprisoned or be free depending on what you feed it with, Proverbs 4:23 says, 'keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life'. God has not placed a limitation to what you can achieve with your talent. Neither should you. Go and express your talents to the fullest. You will succeed, in Jesus Name!

UNLEASH YOUR POTENTIAL: Freedom in the marketplace 19th - 23rd June, 2017 John 8:36 God has made each of us unique with our talents to fulfill His purpose on earth through several means, including in the marketplace (Psalm 139:14). To exhibit your talent and live a genuinely purposeful life, you must primarily believe in your mind that you can do whatever God says you can do through Christ who strengthens you. This knowledge is what sets you free to take the needed action and leverage your God given talent to achieve not only the fulfillment of your career or business objective but also be a pace setter in your industry. As is usually said, you need to see it 'first within, then without.' The reality, however, is that the cares of this world, your past business/career experiences, your professional associations, stories you've heard from senior associates or colleagues, etc., have all entered your mind, and shaped your perspective of what is possible or impossible. Consequently, to become the best that God has designed you to be in the marketplace, you must replace all those old ideologies with the revelation of the knowledge of God and who/what He says you are. Once this understanding is formed in your mind, then and only then are you at liberty to thrive and excel in your career or business endeavour. This is because, with the mind of Christ, there are no impossibilities, only possibilities. Your mind becomes illuminated, and solutions begin to flood your thoughts. Once these ideas are converted to action by replacing fear with faith in God, the sky then becomes only the beginning. Our focus for today is on how to overcome the fear that cripples you from capitalizing on your talent and the power of God to become the reference point in your industry or area of influence. 1) As an entrepreneur or employee in the marketplace, what factors have you observed that hinder many people from unleashing their potential i.e. stepping out of the boat? Discuss. In your opinion, how can these fears be overcome so that individuals get out of their comfort zones? 2) From the ongoing discussion, it has become apparent that various kinds of fears can hold you down in your mind and hinder you from actualizing your capacity in the marketplace and consequently impact your level of success. Below are tips to overcome these hindrances. a) Believe that everything that God has promised you is yours indeed. 2 Chron. 20:20, Rom 10:10, Jer. 29:11. b) Pray and trust in the Lord fully. Do not cut corners. Prov. 3: 5-6, Phil 4:6 c) Meditate on the word. Psalm 56:3-4; Is 41:10 d) Be conscious about what enters your mind. Watch your association. Prov. 4:23; 13:20, Psalm 1:1 e) Keep developing your gift/talent to boost your confidence. 2Timothy 2 vs. 15 f) Don't be intimidated by competition or seeming failure. Prov. 24:16 Fear incapacitates. It is one of the devices of the devil to stop a man from becoming what God has purposed. However, as the redeemed of the Highest, you do not have a spirit of fear (2 Tim 1:7). Consequently, when you find yourself in those situations where fear wants to consume your mind, remember that the Lord is your strength and sustainer (Psalm 27:1). Allow the power of the Holy Spirt transform your thoughts, so you truly begin to exhibit and display the mind of Christ, and as you do this, you'll experience divine, mind blowing outcomes in your endeavours both as an employee and a business owner. Your success is guaranteed in Jesus name. Note
