Parents will need to chose one person from the church to be your child s Faith Friend. Faith Friends must be out of High School and a member of FUMC, Bryan. Faith Friends can be of the opposite sex, if the parents so choose. Parents will want to pick a person from the church that might already have a bond with the child such as a family friend. Faith Friends serve as a mentor/sponsor during the Confirmation year. They are welcome to share their story, come to Sunday School occasionally, participate in trips and social events, and encourage the Confirmand along the way. Please contact the person that you would like to be your child s Faith Friend. Let Jeff Hobbs know who you have chosen as soon as possible. If you would like Jeff to find a Faith Friend for you child, please let him know. Please try to have a Faith Friend picked by November 11th. Parents are the number one faith influence in their children s lives. Parents are just as much Confirmation teachers as the teachers and the pastors. Parents are expected to get their Confirmand to class and events in a timely manner. Do not miss Confirmation without good reason. Please make Confirmation a priority in your family s life this year. Confirmation is what you make it. If it is important to you, it will be important to your child.
