Bble Story Text Acts 8:26-38 Materals For the teacher: Bble large box utlty knfe scssors blue constructon paper, 4" x 4" tape markers or crayons 2 large craft stcks Reproducble Pages: Page A, 1 copy for the teacher Page B, 1 copy for the teacher Preparaton 1. Cut out and color the Phlp and the Ethopan fgures and the charot from the copes of Reproducble pages A and B. 2. Tape a craft stck to the back of each fgure makng t a puppet. 3. Create a puppet stage as follows: A. Fold n the open flaps of a large box. See Fgure A. B. Place the box on ts sde and cut a slt along the top edge. See Fgure B. 4. Glue the followng to the box. See Fgure C. A. Cut a 4" x 4" pece of blue constructon paper and glue t to the front of the box n front of the slt. Ths wll be the water. B. Glue the charot on the oposte sde of the water. 5. Practce tellng the story wth the stage and the puppets. The Ethopan Have all of the chldren st n a crcle and place the stage on your lap. Today we are gong to see a puppet show! Open the Bble. The Bble says that a long tme ago there was a man who had a bg heart for God. Show the Ethopan puppet. Pont to hs heart. Let the chldren have a turn touchng hs heart. The Ethopan was a very specal man because he had a heart that wanted to love God! That means he wanted to learn as much about God as he could. Where can you learn about God? Yes, at church or n the Bble. Ths man was comng from church and he was readng hs Bble. We do not know ths man s name, but we do know that he was from the country of Ethopa. That s why he s called the Ethopan. Can you say that? One day the Ethopan was rdng along n hs charot. Show the chldren the charot. Insert the Ethopan puppet stck through the slt n the stage behnd the charot. H, boys and grls! Guess who I am? I am the Ethopan! Guess what I am dong? I am rdng n my charot! Materals For each chld: 1 / 2 tolet paper tube 1 ppe cleaner 2 brass fasteners 1 pece of poster board, 3" x 4" crayons or markers For the teacher: plastc dsposable gloves hole punch scssors push pn tape Reproducble Pages: Page E, 1 copy for each chld Page F, 1 copy for each chld Preparaton 1. Cut out the Ethopan and the Phlp fgures from the copes of Reproducble Page E. 2. Fold out the bottom flaps at the dotted lnes. Glue the two fgures back to back. 3. Cut out the horses from the copes of Reproducble Page F. 4. Fold out the bottom flaps at the dotted lnes. Glue the two horses together, back to back. 5. Punch a hole n each horse where t wll be attached to the charot. 6. Cut out the wheel stencl from the copes of Reproducble Page F. 7. Prepare two wheels for each chld as follows: A. Trace and cut out the wheel from poster board. B. Make a small hole n the center of each wheel wth a push pn. 8. Prepare a charot for each chld as follows: A. Cut each tolet paper tube n half. See Fgure A. B. Punch two holes n one end of the half tube to hold the rens for the horse. C. Poke a hole n each sde of the half tube wth a push pn. D. Attach the wheels to the tube by pushng a brass fastener through the hole n the wheel and then through the hole n the half tube. Do ths on each sde. See Fgure B. 9. Make a model of the craft.
