NKJV Bible Quizzing Study Sheets - Truth and Training Book Three How do we know the Bible is true? Answer 1: We know the Bible is true because the Bible is God s Word. Jeremiah 10:10a But the LORD is the true God; He is the living God. John 17:17b Your word is truth. Psalm 119:42b I trust in Your word. Psalm 119:74b I have hoped in Your word. T&T Book 3 Study Sheet 1 of 3 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (Same in all books - KJV) Answer 2: We know the Bible is true because God says His Word is pure. Proverbs 30:5-6 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar. Answer 3: We know the Bible is true because people witnessed the events of the Bible. 2 Peter 1:16 For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life. Answer 4: We know the Bible is true because the Bible is historically correct. 1 John 1:1-2 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life. The life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us. Answer 5: We know the Bible is true because God used at least 40 men to write the Bible and yet it all fits together. Luke 1:1-2, 4 Inasmuch as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us. Just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us. That you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed. Answer 6: We know the Bible is true because the Bible was written over a time period of 1500 years and yet it all fits together. Romans 16:26 But now has been made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith. 2 Peter 1:21 For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Answer 7: We know the Bible is true because events that were prophesied really happened. Jeremiah 28:9 As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, the prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has truly sent. Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

T&T Book 3 Study Sheet 2 of 3 Answer 8: We know the Bible is true because the Bible changes people s lives. Acts 16:29-31 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? So they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Challenge 2 - Read Acts 16; When someone trusts Christ as Savior, he or she becomes a new creation. God s Word is true and it does change lives What do I need to know about God? Answer 1. God offers me the ultimate gift. Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Answer 2. I need to know that God wants me to honor Him. Exodus 20:3-5a You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself a carved image any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them nor serve them. Exodus 20:7a,8 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Answer 3. I need to know that God wants me to honor my family and my neighbors. Exodus 20:12-15 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. Exodus 20:16-17 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor s house; you shall not covet your neighbor s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor s. Answer 4. I need to know that God is merciful. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart form the deeds of the law. Mark 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. Challenge 3 Workmanship comes from the Greek word poiema which is where our English word poem comes from. The law showed us we are sinners in need of a Savior. Because of His mercy, God sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to be our Savior. We are saved by putting our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior. NKJV

T&T Book 3 Study Sheet 3 of 3 Answer 5. I need to know that God is faithful. 1 Corinthians 1:9 - God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. Answer 6. I need to know that God loves the world John 5:24 - Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Answer 7. I need to know that God is my authority. Matthew 28:18 - And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Philippians 2:9-10 - Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth Answer 8. I need to know that God cares about me. Luke 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. 1 Peter 5:7- Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. Hebrews 13:5- Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. NKJV

T&T Book 3 Study Sheet 2 of 3 Answer 7: We know the Bible is true because events that were prophesied really happened. Jeremiah 28:9 But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the Lord only if his prediction comes true. Deuteronomy 18:22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. Answer 8: We know the Bible is true because the Bible changes people s lives. Acts 16:29-31 The jailor called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. Romans 3:20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in His sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Romans 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. T&T Book 3 Study Sheet 2 of 6 Answer 6: We know the Bible is true because the Bible was written over a time period of 1500 years and yet it all fits together. Romans 16:26 But now has been made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith. (NKJV); But now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey Him. (NIV) 2 Peter 1:21 For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (NKJV); For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (NIV) Answer 7: We know the Bible is true because events that were prophesied really happened. Jeremiah 28:9 As for the prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, the prophet will be known as one whom the Lord has truly sent. (NKJV); But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the Lord only if his prediction comes true. (NIV) Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him. (NKJV); If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. (NIV) Answer 8: We know the Bible is true because the Bible changes people s lives. Acts 16:29-31 Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? So they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. (NKJV); The jailor called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? They replied, Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved you and your household. (NIV) Challenge 2 - Read Acts 16; When someone trusts Christ as Savior, he or she becomes a new creation. (NKJV); For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV) Answer 2. (NKJV); You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them. (NIV) Combined NKJV and NIV

T&T Book 3 Study Sheet 3 of 6 Exodus 20:7a,8 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. (NKJV); You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God. Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. (NIV) Answer 3. I need to know that God wants me to honor my family and my neighbors. Exodus 20:12-15 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. (NKJV); Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. (NIV) Exodus 20:16-17 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor s house; you shall not covet your neighbor s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor s. (NKJV); You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet your neighbor s house. You shall not covet your neighbor s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.(niv) Answer 4. I need to know that God is merciful. Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. (NKJV); Therefore no one will be declared righteous in His sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. (NIV) Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. (NKJV); He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. (NIV) Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart form the deeds of the law. (NKJV); For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. (NIV) Mark 12:30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. (NKJV); Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. (NIV) Challenge 3 Workmanship comes from the Greek word poiema which is where our English word poem comes from. The law showed us we are sinners in need of a Savior. Because of His mercy, God sent His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ to be our Savior. We are saved by putting our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior. Answer 5. I need to know that God is faithful. 1 Corinthians 1:9 - God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. (NKJV); God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. (NIV) 1 Corinthians 10:13 - No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (NKJV); No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (NIV) Combined NKJV and NIV

(NKJV); I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (NIV) Answer 7. (NKJV); The Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. (NIV) Answer 8. I need to know that God cares about me. Luke 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. (NKJV); Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. (NIV) 1 Peter 5:7- Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you. (NKJV); Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
