What is ANOINTING?? 2 #1: to smear or rub with oil Shepherds anointed sheep s head with Oil - A lot like a mother s spit-bath - Anointing s Symbolic BLESSING / PROTECTION / EMPOWERMENT Anointing was also used... #2: for consecration people and things for sacred duty OBJECTS ANOINTED: PEOPLE ANOINTED: - TABERNACLE / UTENSILS / ALTER - BUILDERS / PROPHETS / PRIEST / KINGS - People and Objects were anointed with Oil... to signify God s Call on that person s life - A symbol that GOD had granted them... HOLY SPIRIT for Power & Service ANOINTING OIL is NOT magical potion but is Symbolic of HOLY SPIRIT - HOLY SPIRIT makes Holy what He touches - HOLY SPIRIT gives divine purpose to those He touches
3 #3: anointed means Chosen One Jesus is the Messiah / messiah (literally, "anointed one") - Jesus was Anointed / Chosen / Empowered by God with Holy Spirit... [ Acts 10.38 NLT ] And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. - Jesus was Anointed when He came out of the water at baptism - Lead into wilderness to fast & pray - Went to synagogue read from Book of Isaiah... [ Luke 4.18-19 NKJV ] The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me ( chosen ) To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. - We see Jesus was... - CHOSEN by God the Father - ANOINTED through the covering of the Holy Spirit - CONSECRATED (set apart) for the work of heaven here on earth - EMPOWERED to accomplish GOD s plan all through the anointing of Holy Spirit After Jesus returned to heaven... He sent the Holy Spirit to ANOINT US!!

He has anointed us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts - WHEN you re saved, you re Anointed with HOLY SPIRIT / We are... - CHOSEN by God - CONSECRATED for God s purpose here on earth - SET APART for good works - MADE HOLY through sacrifice of Jesus - EMPOWERED for good works by Holy Spirit The Anointing in our lives is a... supernatural equipping to accomplish GOD s call on our lives (Read again but with me in place of us ) TODAY... We are going to declare GOD s BLESSINGS / PROMISES / PROTECTION / CALLING...over our lives and our family s lives
5 We are Anointing today... as a REMINDER of God s anointing in us!!!! - Reminder of WHO is living in us - Reminder we are CHOSEN - Reminder we are to be SET APART for GOD - Reminder Holy Spirit EMPOWERS for obedience & fulfill GOD s will in our world today - Remind us we are ALREADY ANOINTED!!! Many times we look at the coming year with dreadful expectations... NOT THIS YEAR - 2019 - We will be dedicating 2019 / Our Lives / our Family to GOD [ Titus 2.14 AMP ] (Jesus) [willingly] gave Himself [to be crucified] on our behalf to redeem us and purchase our freedom from all wickedness, and to purify for Himself a chosen and very special people to be His own possession, who are enthusiastic for doing what is good. [ START MUSIC QUIETLY ] INSTRUCTIONS FIRST / We all will pray short prayer over each other (Even if you ve never done it) - Families & Individuals (repeat after me) - Then come forward for Anointing 2019 will be lived out with Intention and purpose... not by accident or luck
PRAYERS... (Lay hands on Spouse OR Pray for them if they are not here / Self) 6 A. Husbands anoint and pray for your Wife - Thank GOD for your wife (she is a gift & blessing) - Ask Holy Spirit to build patience & gentleness in you towards your wife - Pray that you would be generous towards your wife - Ask Holy Spirit to help you to show your love for her in real & greater ways - Shield her by praying Blood of Jesus over her - Speak blessing over her (...I Love You!) B. Wives pray for your Husband - Thank GOD for your husband (he is a gift & blessing) - Ask Holy Spirit to build patience & gentleness in you - Ask Holy Spirit to help you honor husband - Shield him by praying Blood of Jesus over him - Speak blessing over him (...I Love You!) C. Mom & Dad (Mom or Dad) pray for Children together - Thank GOD for your children (they are a gift & blessing) - Ask Holy Spirit to build patience & gentleness in you towards your kids - Ask Holy Spirit to empower you to live a life that they can imitate - That they will respond in faith to Jesus s faithful, persistent call - That they will not be unequally yoked in intimate relationships, especially marriage - Shield them by praying Blood of Jesus over them - That when the time is right, they will GO! INSTRUCT them for Anointing... Dismiss them
