OBITUARY Walter Everett Mitchell, bom June 18~ 1945 to the late Walter Lewis Mitchell and Olla Manley ofseaboard, North Carolina. He attended secondary school in North Carolina, and completed his education in the Alexandria school systems. Being adventurous "Mitch" as he was called, entered the Marine Corps with the Tactics of tile marine rifle squad and served in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietmncse Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal Before his Honorable discharged in 1972. Mitch returned to Alexandria VA.In 1991 Mitch joined ilie City Alexandria volunteers helping to educate others he later became a dedicated member ofilie Correctional Services Sheriffs Advisory Board. He was an outstanding member the Loca] American Legion Veterans Association. A loyal employee ofthe Ramada Inn where he was Chief Engineer until his departure. Mitch rededicated his life Christ in 1994. In 1996 Mitch met and married Brenda Owens. Mitch" the solider, the leader, the hosband, the father and brother and a good friend of many, showed us all how to kcep going DO matter what. He leaves us all with good times, and loving memories oflife that will last forever. He leaves to mourn his wife Brenda Mitchell; two sons survive him, Everett M. Mitchell, (Bobbie) offt. Washington and Janeil Gray of Alex, VA a Daughter Desiree Owens oflaurei, MD. Two stepsons, Dean Best of Ft. Washington, Paravares Owens, One grandson Brandon Quattebaum, Upper Marlboro, Md. Two Sisters Amie and Francis Mitchell, three Brothers Millard, Charlie and George Mitchell, one late brother Henry Mitchell, Tluee uncles John, Raymond, and Millard Mitchell, one Aunt, Louise Mitchell and host ofother relatives, a devoted friend Ms. Barbara Brown ofalexandria, Va. And. a network ofloving and caring brothers.
