THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 3 A prayer for Maundy Thursday O God, we remember that Christ gave us an order and an example for this special night. This is my body, he said as he took the bread. This is my blood, he said as he took the cup. Do this in remembrance of me. So we come together to remember our Lord and to have fellowship with him. May this be a meaningful and glorious time for us all as we commune together in worship and the pursuit of holiness. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 5 Easter joy Joy is prayer. Joy is strength. Joy is love. Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls. God loves a cheerful giver. One gives most who gives with joy. The best way to show our gratitude to God and people is to accept everything with joy. A joyful heart is the inevitable result of a heart burning with love. Never let anything so fill you with sorrow as to make you forget the joy of the Christ risen. Mother Teresa Join a Relay for Life team Relay for Life is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. The Miami County relay is six hours in length, from 6 p.m.-midnight June 9 at the Osawatomie Trojan track, and each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps. Cancer patients don't stop because they're tired, and for one night, neither do we. Relay for Life started 32 years ago as one man walking and running a track and has turned into a global event that has raised over $5 billion to help save lives throughout the world. If you are interested in joining a Lighthouse Presbyterian team, contact Jane Hines at 294-4730 or mjanehines@gmail.com. We need: People willing to walk on the night of the relay; sponsors to help with fundraising; sponsors for luminaria to honor cancer survivors and those who have lost their lives to the disease.
