We give thanks unto the Lord for blessing us to come to the close of another year. For it was only by his mercies and loving kindness we made it. In the midst of all that happened doing the year, let us say, had it not been for the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, we could not have made it. But, we are learning, in all things to give thanks, for it's working out for our good. Now, the Lord's willing we are looking to celebrate Christmas, a time set aside to acknowledge the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. John 3:16 speaks of His great love for all mankind, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Now we can join in and sing, Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room And heaven and nature sing. Isaiah p r o p he s i e d i n I s a i a h 7 :1 4, Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Matthew 1:23 reads, Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:21, And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from their sins. In Luke 2:10-11, one of God's special angels described the celebration to the shepherds, And the angel said unto them, fear not; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. Christmas celebration brings with it many challenges, for we do not know the day in which He was born, however; we do know he was born. And wise men still seek him, how wise are you? Let's rise up and follow/worship the wonderful counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Jesus Christ is He. Amen, amen! A Word from Our Editor... Submitted by: Sis. Marilyn Silver Don't Forget Jesus Christmas is a special time To reflect on Jesus Christ, The wonder of His lowly birth Brings meaning to our lives There really is no other reason, We celebrate this day, The birth of God's precious son And the life, He willingly gave But so much seems to distract us In the busyness of our lives, We lose our focus in all the happenings, Not knowing, we leave out Christ Trying to find that perfect gift, Seems to cloud our Saviour out We need to stop and reflect awhile, Remembering our precious Lord, His birth, His life and sacrifice And all that He stands for For though the world may celebrate, It seems, though, for other reasons, Let s keep in mind that Jesus Christ Is the true meaning of the season. By M.S.Lowndes We lose sight of the true meaning As we endlessly rush about, Temple Elders Speak... By: Elder Timothy Williams Praise the Lord Everyone, In The Name That Is Above Every Name (JESUS)!I hope and pray that everyone is doing well mentally, physically and spiritually in Jesus' name! As I was thinking about the fall season coming to an end and winter approaching, a song came to mind so I thought I would use it to encourage us in this new season! I changed a few words, but I pray that it will bless us. It s a new season, it s a new day. A fresh anointing is flowing our way It s a season of power and prosperity. It s a new season coming our way. The devil s time is up, no longer can he stop us, because the Creator of the universe He fathers us, and it s transferable our children s children shall be free; it s a new season it s a new day. If you don t know by now, you need to know it s jubilee, where debts are canceled and your children walk in victory. It s available to you right now just taste and see, it s a new season coming our way. The new birth presents a new horizon, and no greater time for us to make a choice and take a stand. All that we need is resting in His hands; it s a new season it s a new day! All that the devil has stolen from us will be returned a hundred fold. Tried in the fire but we re coming out gold. Cling to His hand, yes, to every promise take a hold; it s a new season it s a new day! Enjoy the Christmas Season, but don t forget that JESUS is the real reason for the season! Let s not overspend, or stress ourselves trying to buy gifts for the whole world; remember God the Father has given us the greatest gift of all, His Son our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Page 2 Temple of Deliverance, HCG, Inc. Newsletter

Temple Men Speak... By: Deacon Matthew Pendleton Greeting to all, we are now in the midst of our holiday season, with so much to be thankful for; especially living here in this great country we call America. Our next approaching holiday, and one of if not the most celebrated is Christmas. People almost everywhere observe Christmas. But how did Christmas come to be observed? How did the customs and practices associated with Christmas make their way into traditional Christianity s most popular holiday? Did you know December 25 has a checkered past, a long and contentious history? This should come as no surprise given that Christmas and many of its popular customs and trappings are nowhere set forth in the Bible. Our Creator s view of this popular holiday is ignored or not even considered by most people. Yet His perspective should be our main consideration. Let s examine the history of Christmas and compare it with God s Word, rather than our own ideas and experiences, to discover His opinion. Some 3,000 years ago King David of Israel, wrote a psalm of praise and instruction for his people. His words included: Give to the Lord the glory due His name; bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness! (1 Chronicles 16:29). David gave this instruction because God alone embodies perfect holiness (Psalm 99:5, 9; Revelation 15:4). The Bible reveals no future for people who refuse to honor their Creator. He warns that some will worship God in vain because their practices are rooted in mankind s traditions and edicts rather than biblical truth. He labels such worship unacceptable and hypocritical, saying such people draw near to me with their mouth, and honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me (Matthew 15:7-9; Mark 7:6-9). Given these biblical statements and instructions, does it matter which religious holidays we observe? Many of the trappings of Christmas are merely 10/23 - ANNUAL MISSIONARY S DAY. Our Missionaries were arrayed in white and gold as they marched in the sanctuary singing, We ve Come This Far By Faith. Our very own, Sister Shirley Moody, addressed the Missionaries with an inspiring lesson titled, United We Stand. She reminded us to be like-minded and in unity there is strength. Pastor Beanum brought forth a soulsearching message titled, Counterfeit Faith/Worship. He carryovers from ancient celebrations. Isaiah 10:3 And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? To whom will ye flee for help? And where will ye leave your glory? To Whom Will Ye Flee For Help? This is addressed to those who know not God, to those who know not our Lord Jesus Christ. What multitudes there are of such! Let us ask, Am I one of them? Have I fled for refuge to lay hold on the hope set before me in the gospel? Is Christ formed in my heart the hope of glory? Is God my friend, my father, and my joy? If not, when trouble comes and overwhelms you, when Satan harasses you, when conscience accuse you, when the world frowns upon you, when sickness seizes you, when death stares you in the face, to whom will you flee for help? Who can support you in trouble? Who can deliver you from God s wrath, or from Satan? Who can calm and pacify a guilty conscience? Who can give you patience when suffering from a disease? Who can raise you above the fears of death, or entitle you to a glorious immortality? He that cannot do these things for you now cannot do them for you then. To whom then will you flee? Creatures (man) are vain, they cannot help you. God alone can, and if you will flee to him now, it will be well with your soul, for he invites you and promises to receive you. Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. When you come He delivers from the wrath that now abides upon you and will deliver you from the wrath to come. admonished us to be real in the Lord, for only what we do for Christ will last. It was a beautiful service and another year the Lord has given the Missionaries to work in the vineyard. Continue to pray for our dedicated Missionary Department: Sis. Roberta Johnson, President; Sis Shirley Johnson Vice-President and Mother Ruby Beanum our Advisor. Temple Women Speak... By: Sister Paulette Hudson Fast, Pray and Sing Praise the Lord everybody! God is so worthy to be praised, just because he s God! God is still teaching me, when the storms of life come, seek him first for the answer. First we must fast and pray. While waiting for the answer, we must get the song that s deep down in our hearts and SING! Falling in Love with Jesus is the best thing I ve ever done, in his arms I feel protected, etc. (sing on)! If we can continue to meditate on the words to this song and praise God that he loves us and he chose us, that s a reason to shout the victory! Let s continue to fast, pray and sing the song that God has given us! Be encouraged, keep looking to Jesus. Remember, all of our help comes from the Lord (sing again)! I love you! **October 30th ** 5th Sunday Union Fellowship @ TOD The saints gathered from far and near to worship the Lord in unity. The sweet spirit of fellowship rested upon us from Sunday School through morning worship (testimonies, songs of praise), to the spoken word. The glory of the Lord filled the Temple. Ten Men of God stood in the gap and expounded the word of God to the congregation. Souls rejoiced in the beauty of Holiness. God blessed our sister churches from North Carolina (Beulaville & Goldsboro) to journey safely all the way. Christ Mission Temple of the Apostolic Faith, -Culpeper VA, worshipped with us and saints from the surrounding churches joined in the Union Fellowship. We dismissed and entered the dining hall. God was still with us as we enjoyed one another while feasting on natural food. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker (Psalm 95:6). Continue to pray for our 5th Sunday FELLOWSHIP UNION! Volume 36, Issue 12 - December 4, 2016 Page 5

TEMPLE YOUTH SPEAK BY: BROTHER TORI SILVER It s that time of year again. The Christmas and holiday season is in the air. Who doesn t love this time? We get off work and children get out of school. We listen to Christmas music, go shopping, spend time with the ones we love, and even get to pull out the eggnog. But there is something people tend to forget about to this season. And that is the why. Why do we have this season? To celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For if it wasn t for Him, where would we be? In this joyous time of the year, let s not forget to have Christ in our Christmas. He is the reason for the season. Internet Safety Outreach Event Nov. 6th (Article taken from the Louisa County Sheriff's Office Facebook Page) The LCSO would like to extend our appreciation to Temple of Deliverance HCG for opening their church on Sunday (Nov. 6th) to host an Internet Safety Outreach Event. O R N E R A R E G I V E R S Top 3 Tips for Caregivers (Guest Post Susanne White, Founder of Caregiver Warrior) Caregivers are the salt of the earth. They do everything in their power to make sure those they care for are safe, warm, happy and pain-free. What they do to accomplish this is sometimes astonishing and miraculous. I have seen caregivers consistently turn themselves inside out to make those they love comfortable and comforted. Caregivers are Angels on Earth. I have also seen first-hand how many caregivers, myself included, are so dedicated to those they care for that they lose sight of their own welfare. We must be aware of this and make sure that we too are comfortable and comforted. Just as we are instructed to put the oxygen mask on first before helping others in case of an airplane emergency, caregivers must be able to breathe before they can help someone else. Caregivers are so focused on those they care for they sometimes neglect themselves. During my caregiving Journey, I learned that taking care of myself was one of the most important things I could do not only for myself but for those I cared for. Here are 3 powerful tips I used that Thank You! can provide ways to make sure selfcare is at the top of your list: 1. Halt If you are Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired, take the appropriate measures to feel better. Stop and eat something healthy, take a break and calm down, reach out and talk to someone, take a rest. It s vital you are in touch with your feelings and your state of mind and body so you take the necessary steps to feel better. 2. Ask for help. Do not try to do it all alone. Caregiving takes a village. We all need a helping hand. You deserve to get all the relief and help you need and are entitled to ask for it. So often others want to help but don t know how. Speak up and tell them how they can. 3. Talk to someone. Reach out to family and friends who love and support you. Having a sounding board or shoulder to lean on is not a luxury but a necessity. See if there are groups for caregivers in your local community where you can share your experience and feel connected. By sharing your thoughts and feelings you can reduce stress and feel less alone. As you travel on your caregiving journey, be sure to stop along the way and take care of yourself. The way to survive the stress and enormity of the caregiving role is found through self-love and kindness. Being kind and generous to yourself helps you be kind and generous to others. Susanne White is the founder of Caregiver Warrior. She was blessed with the opportunity to care for her parents and ventured out on a journey that would change her life. She blogs about this journey on her website and shares her experience, strength and hope with others so that they too may survive caregivi ng wit h grace and empowerment. Follow her on Twitter @caregivewarrior and on LinkedIn. We greatly appreciate the many readers just like yourself, who have contributed to the Newsletter with your prayers, encouragements and monetary blessings! It s because of you and, of course, Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ that we are able to distribute this monthly newsletter to thousands of souls across the nation. We ask for your continued support of this ministry.
