PARISH NEWS CHILDREN S CHRISTMAS PARTY All the children of the parish are invited to attend our annual Children s Christmas Party today, Sunday, December 16 th. There will be crafts, games, food, and of course Santa who will have a gift for each child. This party is sponsored by our Teen Life and Jr. CYO team. It is one of the many customs which makes our parish so special. AN INVITATION Today, Sunday, December 16 th, we celebrate Gaudete Sunday, the third Sunday of Advent. You are invited to bring to Mass your Baby Jesus figurine from you home Nativity Scene. A special blessing will be offered for these images of the Christ Child after all the Masses. Christmas Wafers will also be available at the entrance tables in church. We will continue with our Parish Family Christmas Tree! A Christmas tree will be present in the new entrance way to church. If you wish to place an ornament from your family for the Christmas season, you are encouraged to do so. You may wish to make an ornament, have your family represented on the ornament or use an ornament that has special meaning to your family. We hope that all parish families take part in making this Parish Family Christmas Tree a true representation of our entire parish family so it may serve as a worthy tribute to celebrate the Birthday of Our Lord Jesus. After the Christmas Season, we ask that you then remove your ornament and keep it safe for next year s tree. CAROLING There will be a Christmas Caroling event today, Sunday, December 16 th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please meet in the church hall to carol around the neighborhoods and then return for refreshments provided by our Holy Name Society and Sodality. Dress warmly and bring flashlights, candles, jingle bells, and the like. For those who wish to stay inside and socialize, our Prayer Folk Group will be singing in the hall. MONDAY ROSARY The next Monday Rosary will be held tomorrow Monday, December 17 th at 6:00 p.m. to pray the Luminous Mysteries. All are welcome to join in the prayer. The Rosary is also recited at 4:30 p.m. on all Saturday evenings before the Vigil Mass at 5:00 p.m. This is a wonderful way to obtain grace from Mary, Queen of the Rosary, for whom our church is named. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Everyone is invited to join in the all-day Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament which is offered on the last Monday of each month. Our next Eucharistic Adoration will be held on Monday, December 31 st. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed from noon till 5:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. Come and spend some time before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament! May your troubles last as long as your New Year s resolutions! OPPORTUNITY This Christmas Season many families will not be able to provide a warm dinner or gifts to their family. Our rectory has been receiving numerous calls from families who are down on their luck and need help with Christmas. We ask that donations be given in the form of gift cards.
