COMPLETE VICTORY IN CHRIST January 2018 Newsletter of Shekinah/ Kalibu Ministries Issue 277 WHOLENESS AND THANKFULNESS Beloved Partners & Friends, How many of us really keep any kind of accounting of the huge number of things for which we ask or usually demand from the Lord? We offer up endless shopping lists of requests from husbands to Mercedes vehicles but forget about them just as soon as we have offered them. This means that we forget those things for which we have asked and more importantly we therefore fail to give thanks to the Lord and glorify Him. Now, I assure you that the Lord does not have a hissy fit and does a stint of pouting. Neither, to our great relief does the magnificent Father of lights refuse to answer our prayers again. No, God is not like this at all. BUT, and it is a huge BUT, the answers to our prayer requests will never be complete. Let me explain it with one of the miracles of Jesus. "And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God. And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole." The number ten in God's Word is the number of law. According to law these lepers were outcasts from family, friends and society. They called on the Lord for mercy and received mercy but I assure you that nine of them would their selves not be merciful to others. James in his epistle tells us, " For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment." Indeed, truly, in their act of obedience to the Law as given through Moses, to show their selves to a priest who declared whether a leper was cleansed, they received their healing because of their faith. Now, ironically nine is the number of fruitfulness of the Holy Spirit. Out of Africa January 2018 Page 2 Wholeness and Thankfulness (Cont.) Only one despised and rejected Samaritan - like a literal "untouchable" in India - returned to pour out his heart IN THANKFULNESS to the Lord for what the Master had done. Think about the irony of it all. The despised Samaritan was part of the group as long as they were all lepers together. As soon as they were healed, this Samaritan was no longer of the "groupy", but now despised without mercy. Returning to Jesus with a heart overwhelmed with thankfulness, this one Samaritan receives the greater added blessing of being made WHOLE as opposed to merely being healed in body. Ah, beloved, what we withhold from ourselves by failing to bless, thank and honour the Lord for all He does, gives and with which He blesses us. There is an added dimension to our requests and the fulfillment of them when we pour out our hearts in true thankfulness to the Lord. Stop right now whatever you are doing and offer up a prayer of repentance for ever failing to thank the Lord for answering your prayers. Then, begin to bless Him and thank Him for the so many times He has answered your prayers without your even realizing it. Stand back then and see how the Lord's presence will flood you and make you whole, as whole as that Samaritan so long ago. Not least of all, the Spirit of the Lord may make you merciful when you hath showed no mercy. Be supremely blessed in Him dearly beloved and experience not only His healing power but also His wholeness because of your thankfulness. AQUAPONICS FOR AFRICA Pastor Michael has had a dream to bring Aquaponics to rural Malawi & Mozambique. The system used more and more in the developed world can bring self-sufficiency to villages in Africa. Pastor Howard s dream is to teach every Kalibu pastor the Aquaponics methods and set them up with a system in their home villages, to raise fish, grow vegetables in this unique way. Mr. Okko of Finland has been experimenting at his home and is ready to go to Malawi and develop systems there for the native Africans. He writes: I am heading soon to Kalibu in Malawi, for a second time. My purpose is to be starting a certain project, it s a cultivation method called Aquaponics, which combines growing both fish and vegetables in the same system. At first I heard about this method from Pastor Michael, and after that I have been researching it. Last Autumn I was testing the method in a little system here in Finland, it worked, though further development and adaptation to conditions in Malawi area are needed. The idea with this natural cultivation method is to support self- sufficiency of rural area families in food supply and living. May God's blessings and purposes for Malawi be realized in these areas also! Mr. Okko K. Finland
Out of Africa January 2018 Page 3 Mozambique Bible School: Dormitory Construction Pastor Maso is involved in teaching in the Bible School in Morrumbala Mozambique. From his recent trip there he made this report on the construction of the new dormitories for the students. Now time has come to see the progress of the Bible School dormitories that are under construction. We praise God for his provision into this ministry. This has been a vision for Pastor Jim and Eileen to build the nation through the word of God and through a Bible School. Over 120 students have graduated from this school. But, we needed more modern dormitory facilities for the students. The construction of a beautiful dormitory has been under way. As you can see in the photos progress is being made to complete them.the dormitories include 18 student rooms, bathrooms and shower facilities. There is yet a lot of work to be done. The plastering of the walls, the cement for the floors, the door frames and widow frames are needed to complete this. It needs at least $6,000 to do these works. The leader of the ministry there has been working so hard to find the funds this work to be completed. I want to take an opportunity to thank friends and partners who have been faithful to bless the ministry with finance and material for all the project undergoing. We thank God for the hearts which promote the kingdom of God, to see men and women come to this Bible School and have a good place to stay, so that they can learn the word of God and be equipped to build His Kingdom. It is our prayer that the work would be completed, so that Mozambicans and Malawians will come to our Bible School. Mozambique Ministry We want to thank the leadership of Kalibu Ministries for you commitments of encouraging this people to go into the rural areas to reach unreachable place Kalibu ministries its not about city work it is about to reach unreachable place. While we were in Mozambique we had a chance of visiting some of our rural churches. It was so touching to see how hungry people are for the word of God. Our visit was at the Lualua church and it was a challenge to see people not being threatened by the rains but happy waiting for us. This also showed our Finish missionaries to see how the people dedicate themselves into the things of the Lord. Some of them had to walk for a distance of 60km to where the meeting was.
Mozambique Ministry (Cont.) Out of Africa - January 2018 - Page 4 We also went far as Quelimane, where also we had a good time with the church. After the meeting at Fololo Church, we found the same thing, people are so hungry for the word of God. The weather was so hot but we see no one wanted to go outside the Church, they would rather stay inside and listen to the preacher. Wow!Wow!Wow! Their hunger to worship the Lord and listen to His Word. In Posto Shire we had wonderful meetings with the new branch. It is located in a village who s headman is called John. It was amazing how people responded to the word of God. As Mr Pekka was ministering, you can see in the picture people are attentive to the Word. All in all our prayer is to see more places are reached with the word of God and the people come to know Him. JAMES VISITS FINLAND Out of Africa Finland had the privilege to host one of the leaders from Kalibu Ministries, Mr. James Phiri for 5 weeks at the end of last year. I was one of those, who travelled with him to different places in Finland and even abroad to Sweden and Norway. Mr. James had been serving the teams that travel from Finland to Malawi once a year in June-July as a Safari-driver for many times. Now we could bless him back taking him to places that were at least as exotic to him as the animals of Africa are for us. We went to see ballet in Helsinki, took the big ferry to Stockholm and back and travelled to the Arctic circle and further to the coast of the Arctic Sea. Mr. James also did some Finnish things, like sauna and cross-country skiing. It was really great because he was enjoying so much about all of this. In Norway we took a different kind of Safari, a whale-safari in a boat where we saw plenty of Orcas. Even at -31 degrees celsius weather didn t stop him smiling! Our guest from Africa could see many things in such a unique way, that it was an eye-opener for me and others how God has really blessed our nation in many ways and how well many things actually are here. Often we complain about different kinds of things of life and can t see that. Mr. James was really grateful of his journey here and wished us many blessings when he was leaving. And I have felt those blessings and the favor of the Lord after his departure back to Malawi. "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares" (Hebr. 13:2) Mr. Antti Mustakallio
