CLS gives gifts to children around the world instead of exchanging gifts in our classrooms. The organization is Samaritan's Purse and the project is called Operation Christmas Child. Start gathering your shoeboxes, hygiene items, school supplies, and small toys. Our fall chapel offerings will be used for shipping costs. How can you help? You may send in $9.00 to help cover the cost of one shoebox to be shipped. Prepare a shoebox and put a label on it that describes the type of child that will receive it. Donate items to be put in shoeboxes. We need about 200 Beanie Baby type stuffed animals. We need paper and pencils. Companies can help with shipping costs. Your dentists/orthodontists can be asked to donate toothbrushes and floss. Deadline for collecting items and filled shoeboxes is Wednesday, November 8. A packing night after school will be coming on Tuesday, November 14. Begin to pray about the children who will receive our gifts that include a storybook about Jesus provided by Samaritan's Purse. More information will also come home in classroom letters. If you have questions, contact Miss Renzelmann, Mrs. Peters, or Miss Hockemeyer.
