Church Family, I want to thank you for your faithfulness in 2017! We accomplished some great things in the past year. We reached our pledge goal of 6.6 million dollars for our construction project. The new Lobby and Worship Center upgrades have been a tremendous blessing. We renovated our Choir Room, transforming it into a state-of-the-art Contemporary Worship venue, now known as Worship East. We positioned ourselves for growth with the addition of Josiah Warneking as Contemporary Worship Pastor. We also saw about 20% growth in the Contemporary Worship experience. We set a new Sunday schedule with simultaneous worship services at 9:30am, plus a completely new Kids Worship in our Children s Ministry. We inspired families to begin their Christmas season with Jesus during First Christmas and a treelighting event. And, we started a feeding program to help food-insecure families. None of this would have been possible without your generous support. And now, we have a lot more to do in 2018. I am very excited about the visionary work of your Church Council, Committees, and Church Staff. We are in the process of communicating a plan for growth that we have been working on for more than nine months. It is a plan for spiritual and numerical growth that we believe God has given us. It is not something we have copied from other churches, but a plan tailored for our church, for such a time as this. I pray that you will embrace it and be a part of all the good things God wants to accomplish at First Richardson! I want to conclude with a personal note. My father went to be with the Lord in February of 2017. He was 85 years old. Obviously, he had a tremendous impact on my life. It s not easy to lose a parent, at any age. Your outpouring of love, concern, and support was overwhelming. I have never felt so loved and appreciated by a church. Thank you for all the calls, texts, Facebook messages, and letters. Thank you for loving my family through this difficult time. And, most of all, thank you for always showing the love of Jesus. You never cease to amaze me and I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Phil. 1:3-6). You are an amazing church! I am blessed to be your pastor, Ellis Orozco, Senior Pastor
