Joe Wilkerson ACCDC: The Lord has blessed us with a wonderful mission with the Asbury Christian Child Development Program. For over 25 years, this outreach ministry of Asbury UMC has reached thousands of children and their families. On this, Asbury UMC s 125 th year, we are renewed and asking your input and prayers to again review the needs of the community and the outreach of this church ministry. Please plan to attend one of the upcoming congregational meetings below in the Robert Moore Room: Sunday, May 19 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Wednesday, May 22 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm ACCDC Surveys for Congregational Input are available in the Narthex, WAC, and Office area. Please complete the survey and return to the church office by mid-may. Today at 6pm in the Wilson Activity Center. Celebrity judges are: Miss Arkansas (Sloane Roberts); Bob Clausen, KARK Co-Anchor and award winning journalist; and Steve Shields, Head Coach of UALR Men s Basketball. Tickets are available in the WAC and at the event! $10 adults, 5 children, and $25 for a family of 4 or more (in same household). Ticket price includes dessert. This event is a fundraiser for our Missions, so come and show your support! It promises to be a FUN evening with singing, dancing, music and MORE! Labeled jars identifying each special act will be available for your voting this evening. The winner will be the act receiving the most $$$$. Mission of the Month: We are collecting school supplies for the Arkansas Rice Depot. In order to have the supplies ready for the next school term we are collecting them in the month of May. Following is a list of supplies to choose from: #2 pencils Spiral Notebooks Wide-ruled notebook paper Pens Two-pocket folders with prongs Washable markers Erasers Glue and glue sticks 24-count crayons Collection stations will be in the Wilson Activity Center at the foot of the cross and on the ground floor by the elevators. Change The World Day (May 18th) - Registration for the various projects begins May 5 th with signup sheets in the Wilson Activity Center and the Welcome Center. You may also register online by emailing David@asbury-lr.org or by calling the Church Office 225-9231. Service sites and times are as follows: Salvation Army Cook and serve breakfast 5-9am - Number of participants needed: 12 Habitat for Humanity- 8am-12 noon - Number of participants needed: 12 Rice Depot- 9 am-12noon - Number of participants needed: 50 Care kits for the homeless will be prepared in the Wilson activity Center 9-11am - Number of participants : unlimited Child care will be available at Asbury 8am -12:30 pm.
