APRIL 26,, 2016 RICHLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH THE CHURCH VISITOR Assimilation: It s Up to US! That s really what it comes down to, You and Me, as we welcome and engage new members into the body of Richland Hills Christian Church. I will have Laura leave a list in the Gathering Area of all the members that have joined since I arrived. It s up to us to greet them and show them how welcome they are here in our midst. It s up to us to invite them for a meal at our home or even out to eat. It s up to us to share our lives with them. This may even apply to fellow members who have been here for years. To go forward as church we should and want to grow in relationship with each other. This helps us to see how much more we can do for the Kingdom of God, as we hold more tightly to one another. Open Hands and Caring Hearts Prayer Ministry How many of us need prayer? Well, of course, the answer is all of us. This Sunday, take some extra time and join the prayer group that meets before Sunday School at 8:45 am in the sanctuary. Prayer is of great importance to the life and future of this church - please come and be a part of it! Doug Fulk, hard at work! Property at Work: WIFI, Gutters, and Bathrooms If you look up in our hallways in the next few weeks, you may see some new blue wires you haven t seen before. These wires will facilitate the installation of new equipment needed to update our WIFI here at church. Once the WIFI hardware is installed, it will allow us greater access to the internet and other resources that are available electronically. Won t be long now! Don t the gutters look better! Thank you, Doug Fulk, for taking a few minutes out of your lunch and repairing the gutters in front of the office last week. If you haven t noticed, Sid and the Property Team have begun work remodeling the bathrooms near the office entrance of the church. New texture, new paint, new lights and other fixtures will provide an updated look for years to come. --Pastor Paul

Choosing What We Read! I know many in our congregation are devoted readers. The last few weeks I have been trying to get the point across, in my sermons, of it s importance. The way we grow in our faith is choosing to be faithful and obedient to God. Reading is one area that we can choose. First, we can choose to start reading or reading more of the Bible. In addition, rather than reading a book that is more secular in nature, you can find a book that will point you in the direction of God. There are many good books easily attainable in the Gathering Area and Pastor Paul has many more selections in the office. Remember, Seek first the Kingdom of God. Say a prayer, make a plan, then invite someone to church! It really is that easy. It s also our responsibility! Once you get in the habit of doing it you will get better and better at it. We are Thirsty Here! Please donate a case (or two) of bottled water for the Gathering Area for Sunday mornings. Some people don t drink coffee or tea and a cool bottle of water just hits the spot. You can also donate funds and someone here at the church can go and pick some up. Thanks for helping out!

Parents Night Out Saturday, April 30 th 5:00-8:30 6 months - 1 st grade will stay at the church (bring snack supper for your child) 2 nd grade & up will be going to Main Event with Leah Hughes and Rachel Walther (kids need to wear tennis shoes and have a couple dollars for arcade games) Thank you to everyone who RSVP d and our volunteers! We look forward to a fun night of fellowship with our kiddos! Helping our Youth As our Youth Ministry begins to get in full swing, especially as we look toward the fall, we will be looking at ways to raise funds for their activities. One thing that they are already doing is selling sodas at meals and other activities here at the church. You can help to provide even more resources if you will donate a 12 pack of soda, that you pick up at the store when they are on special, as you shop. The youth want to help raise funds for the activities they will be involved in, but we should help them anyway we can. Leader Information and Communication Center If you are on the leadership team, in some capacity, there are new boxes located in the parlor containing articles and other information. I have placed several articles in them over the last few weeks. I encourage you pick them up and read them. The office and other ministries may place items in the boxes. Please take some time to stop by and check them out!

NEED Center Needs your Help! The local N.E.E.D. Center needs the following items to replenish their shelves: toilitries, peanut butter/jelly, oatmeal and cereal. Please donate and bring them to our NEED Box in the Gathering Area! Thank you for your blessings!
