Barnes Evangelistic Ministries has the privilege to SERVE the Savior with the five (5) ministries He has entrusted us with. Preaching and Singing: During the past three months we have enjoyed being with Faith Ind. Baptist Church, Bath, SC. and Pastor Michael Brendel. He s a dear man of God and the church loves the work of God. We also had a great time with our friend Pastor Steve Cape and the sweet folks of the Hillside Baptist Church in Hixon, TN. We love Brother Cape and his dear family and they are always a blessing. I had the privilege of teaching the Word of God in one of the Sunday school classes at The Gospel Light Baptist Church where the pastor is Dr. Bobby Roberson. This was before the Nat. Sword of the Lord Conference started the next day. I have been helping teach Sunday school in our home church, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, for our pastor Brother Dexter Landers. Shield of Faith Publishing: God has blessed this small printing and publishing ministry these last three months. Of course, this newsletter has been part of this ministry since 1990. Our twenty-six week Stars soul Winning Course is made available through this ministry and we are proud to announce God has used this course to help Christians, Churches and Sunday school classes become better soul winners (Check our web-site for more details). The main printing project underway right now is our Fundamental Sunday school Work-Books on the Pauline Epistles. We have completed the Book of Romans in two volumes and some churches are already using this course to help their Sunday schools. Our goal is to complete all the Epistles and have available ASAP. Georgia National Fair Soul Winning Ministry: Of course, every March I ask the Lord if He wants us to continue this ministry of soul winning for eleven days for another year. To God be the glory, this October we will conduct our nineteenth year of winning souls at the Fair and getting the Gospel to thousands of lost people. The Follow-up work done for this ministry is extensive and involves many contacts. Praise the Lord for many good reports! The Gospel Radio Network & WEYY Radio 88.7FM: Many blessings have come about in these last three months regarding this Fundamental Christian Radio Ministry. I am excited to report that God allowed us to begin STREAMING the radio on the internet on June 15, 2015. Now anyone, anywhere at any time can hear Distinctive Fundamental Christian music and programming twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Your help and prayers for these ministries have made it possible for us to continue sharing the blessed Gospel with thousands of people in need of the Savior! The Gospel Radio Network What a great God we have to answer an eight-year-old prayer and give us a Christian Radio Station Ministry in W. Georgia! We are excited about, but also humbled, to think that our Heavenly Father would entrust us with this special ministry to share the Gospel with the world and help Christians in their service for our Savior, Jesus Christ. God allowed us to begin airing on WEYY 88.7 FM in Tallapoosa, GA. on May 27, 2012. On June 15, 2015 we began to air our programming on the world-wide-web. PRAISE GOD! Anyone can listen to fundamental Christian radio programming, anywhere and anytime, 24/7, via www.grnradio.org. Our purpose is to broadcast good fundamental family Christian programming that will lead the lost to salvation and teach and encourage the saint of God by means of preaching and teaching the KJ Bible and with godly, Christ honoring music. Our programming is intended to be fundamental Bible and music. We have no desire to promote the Southern Gospel music industry or any other professional music business. Our preaching and teaching is King James Bible only and our music is what we call, CHURCH MUSIC. We believe that there is an abundance of talent in our fundamental churches. These are people that sing for the GLORY of GOD and never make a fixed charge for their services. These are people that care not if their name is made popular in the music world. On GRN you will hear people sing that never get their name mentioned. They are honored just to share their talents in the local New Testament church where the KJB is preached. On GRN we are not interested in broadcasting the top 40 on the professional charts. We have no desire to promote music by ecumenical singers who do not believe in eternal security, soul winning or Christian separation. We have discovered there is an abundance of Holy Ghost filled talent in the fundamental Bible, soul winning church and we are honored to broadcast and share their music with our radio listeners. We do not need to compromise and join the liberal crowd to have the latest marketable music. We also, believe that God chose the foolishness of preaching, and our goal is to cover the airwaves with powerful, Spirit-filled, Bible preaching every day. America and the world will never see real Holy Ghost revival without PREACHING and SINGING that honors God and doesn t glorify man. If this is what YOU believe Christian radio should be. The Georgia National Fair 2015 By the time you receive this Shield of Faith newsletter, we will be just days from the beginning of this year s Fair soul winning ministry. This will be our nineteenth year of soul winning at the Georgia National Fair in Perry, Georgia for eleven days/twelve hours a day. Literally, thousands of dear lost people will be given the Gospel and many of them will believe it and receive Christ as their Savior, AMEN and GLORY to GOD! Many of YOU have helped this ministry over the years. YOU have given and prayed to see this work gets done. All we can say is God bless YOU for your love for the Savior and lost souls. On day, at the Judgment Seat of Christ the Lord will call YOUR name and THANK YOU for helping tell the world about JESUS and His death, burial and resurrection! How Much Can Be Carried? From my years of working on construction jobs I picked up a saying that went like this, Don t worry about the mule just load the wagon! Matthew 25:14, For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. The Bible teaches that you can put more on some people than you can others. Some people can only do one job at a time and others can do several at the same time and do each one well and efficiently. Generally, it doesn t take long for most Christian leaders to find the saying doesn t work quite like the words tell us. Sometimes the leader must worry about the mule or he will find the mule is over-loaded and is not producing like he could if the leader were smart enough to know how to distribute the talents. This principle works not only where others are concerned, but it also applies to ourselves. Maybe we would do well if we remember to have a little mercy on the MULE. Turning Around If I am going down a road and suddenly I stop and realize I am going the wrong way -------- That s CONVICTION If I turn around --------- That s REPENTANCE If I walk the other direction-- That s CONVERSION ~ 5 ~ He Liked Me I Chronicles 28:4, Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever:. and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel: Would to God this would be the desire of all our hearts! SOUL WINNING/COMPASSION Soul winning won t make you have compassion, but real compassion will make you be a soul winner. Looking Where are we looking? Mathew 5:28.. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Proverbs 23:31.. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. Hebrews 12:2.. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Notice this verse says YOU can KNOW! HERE IS THE BIBLE WAY TO HEAVEN: 1. You must BELIEVE and realize you are a SINNER: Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; No one is exempt. No one is excluded. You are a sinner because you have broken God s law. 2. You must BELIEVE and realize there is a PAYMENT (penalty) for SIN: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; Just as there are wages for good, there is punishment for wrong. The penalty for our sin is eternal separation from God in Hell. 3. You must BELIEVE Christ died and rose again for YOU: Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 4. You must BELIEVE that ETERNAL LIFE is a free GIFT which YOU receive by FAITH in JESUS: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. A GIFT cannot be worked for; it must be RECEIVED by putting your FAITH in what JESUS did for YOU on the cross. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Everlasting life is a gift purchased by the blood of Jesus and offered freely to those who call upon Him by faith. The sower is Jesus or the Christian soul winner. The seed is the Word of God. The soil is man s heart. The seed test the soil, not the other way around. The soil is unpredictable. There is four kinds of soil here: 1. Verse 12.. THE SOLID SOIL Is hard to plow (Proverbs 13:15) 2. Verse 13.. THE SHALLOW SOIL. Has no life system (Matthew 13:21; Romans 11:16) 3. Verse 14.. THE STRANGLED SOIL No lasting fruit (1 John 2:15-17) 4. Verse 15.. THE SOFT SOIL. Abundant fruitfulness (John 15:1-5) May we search our hearts and see what kind of soil we find. God s will is for all His children have hearts of soft soil, (Job 23:16; Psalm 22:14). ~ 6 ~
