(Psalm 126:5). Choosing life isn t always easy. Enduring illnesses, giving birth, caring for children, and speaking truth in love often involve suffering. However, our good Lord forms all people and their circumstances for Himself. And life received from Him brings celebrations that eclipse all sorrows. Whoever trusts Christ s grace will also take hold of His glory (Philippians 3:8-11). Mid-Week Stewardship Thought Living a God-Pleasing Lifestyle God does not command us to live in poverty. We can cite many Biblical characters who were wealthy and yet pleased their Lord. God, after all, is the creator of all good things. We are foolish, however, to hoard our possessions or put our trust in wealth. Paul urges us to put [our] hope in God, Who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment (1 Timothy 6:17), and he further reminds us that God makes us rich in every way so that [we] can be generous on 4
every occasion (2 Corinthians 9:11) with the result that glory will be given to God. Luke 20:16 He will come and destroy those tenants and give the vineyard to others. When they heard this, they said, Surely not! The crowds were shocked at Jesus parable because they took the grace of God for granted. They never thought that God would actually take the vineyard away from them. But we only have access to God by faith. And we can drive faith and the Holy Spirit away. That is the warning of the parable. The Lord has graciously given us His Kingdom. Let us not take it for granted, but instead let us respond with humble thanksgiving! Prayer: Dear Lord, grant me the faith I need to acknowledge You as the creator and source of all things. I thank You for all my blessings, and I ask You to forgive me when I fail to thank You for all that You ve done and continue to do for me. I am truly thankful for my material blessings, but I especially want to thank You the spiritual blessings that are mind throughout eternity. In Christ s name I pray. Amen. Blessings on your stewardship journey! +LIFE TOGETHER+ April 7, 2019 April 14, 2019 Sunday 9:15 Worship Service 10:30 Sunday School 10:45 Adult Sunday School Monday 6:30 TLC Child Care Plus Day Care (Monday-Friday) 8:45 4 Yr. In this narrative, we see glimpses of Christ a promise in Genesis that is now fulfilled. Martin Luther spent the final ten years of his academic career lecturing on the Book of Genesis. He discussed every chapter and almost every verse, bringing out themes as varied as vocation, marriage, prayer, the nature of the Trinity, the work of the Holy Spirit, Law and Gospel, and the theology of the cross. Genesis, Luther said, is made up almost entirely of illustrations of faith and uneblief, and of the fruits that faith and unbelief bear. It is an exceedingly evangelical book. Day by Day in Genesis presents 365 short devotional readings from Martin Luther s commentary on the Book of Genesis, addressing vocation, marriage, prayer, and the promise of Christ. 6
