THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH is preparing for a worldwide church conference on human sexuality and their denominational stance on the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ persons in the life and ministry of their churches. While many United Methodist Churches do welcome members of the LGBTQIA+ community, the governing policies of their denomination are not fully open to all. Our friends at CHRIST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (W138th and Lorain) have invited us to join them on Saturday, February 23 at 7:00 pm for a time of reflection and prayer that their denominational leadership will affirm the full humanity of all people. DAYTIME ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE also at Christ United Methodist Church at noon on March 6. A brief Ash Wednesday worship service with imposition of ashes will be followed by a light brunch served by United Methodist Women. A sign-up sheet is in the narthex if you are interested in attending the brunch that we might provide an accurate count for food. 8
