Confirmation Classes: 588-1455 "Eternal Rest Grant Unto Her, O Lord " Reflection We pray the Lord to give us confidence to trust in his word that he has gone to prepare a permanent dwelling place for us, where we will be with him and all those who have gone ahead of us. We pray that this assurance may strengthen us to live as if we were already there. Our efforts to make the church a home where love, mercy, justice, and peace will be found should lead us to build more firmly on Jesus our cornerstone. When the time comes, the home he promised to prepare for us and take us to should be easily recognizable. t should not be that much different from the church we have been living in all our lives. From the Pastor's Desk Dear Parishioners, As the Easter season progresses, let s keep rising with Christ to all that we can be for God, family, nation, and the world. With Christ we can overcome, we can conquer, we can shine. Let this good shepherd continue to reveal himself to us on the highways of life, at our dinner table, in the Eucharist, at our work and play, in the family and among friends. Sports Night: Friday May 13 th evening was the fun Sports Night. The Volleyball Game between the 8 th grade girls and the moms and the basketball game between the 8 th grade boys and the dads were full of excitement. Chris McGuire emceed the event excellently. thank the organizers of this event as well as the outgoing athletic directors (a job well done!) and welcome warmly the incoming ones. Mother-Daughter Tea: was delighted to attend this event Sunday May 15 th afternoon in the parish center. t was a charming event indeed. The hall was well decorated and the children had a lot of fun in the presence of their mothers, grandmothers, and aunts. Such events bring people together and strengthen our community bonds. want to congratulate Roseann Mott and other Second Grade Moms for that beautiful event. Faith Formation Year-end Event: The Faith Formation end-of-year celebration took place Saturday May 14 th in the afternoon. celebrated the Mass at 2:00 p.m. with the children and their families. Then there was the barbecue and entertainment in the Falcon Hall. Karen Guglielmoni and her team led by Grace Uniacke and Mary Silva arranged everything so well that the children and parents enjoyed themselves thoroughly. May Crowning: At the 9:30 a.m. Mass last Sunday, the children s choir sang beautifully, and the Blessed Virgin Mary was crowned! All the children present at that Mass brought flowers to Mary. t was a heart-warming event. want to thank Karen Guglielmoni, Sandy Kearney, Christopher Lindstrom, Naomi Marquez and others for making this event special and memorable. May our Mother, who is the Mother of Jesus, guide every step we take. Our Parish the Beautiful: Recently some people had come from other parishes and towns to participate in our weekend Masses. Some of them expressed to me how much they enjoyed the community spirit in our parish. A couple of them mentioned that they wanted to be part of this parish. One of them sent in the parish registration form to join us! A visiting priest too said that his spirit was uplifted by our congregation. t goes to show that there is something beautiful happening in our parish community. Let s keep up the good work. Let s just be positive. Let s keep a perspective on what matters and what doesn t. Let s just be nice toward God and one another. Let s be with Jesus who needs our help to heal and transform the world. Your Friend and Pastor, Father Charles Puthota

The National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Mariners and People of the Sea is May 22, 2011. The day is observed in conjunction with National Maritime Day in the United States of America, which has been celebrated since 1933 to honor those who serve as merchant mariners and to recognize the benefits of the maritime industry. The USCCB established the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Mariners and People of the Sea on November 14, 2005 to encourage Catholics in the country to support, remember and pray for merchant mariners/seafarers, fishermen, port personnel and those in the maritime industry. Mariner's Prayer Our Lady, Star of the Sea, Mother of God and our Mother, you know all the dangers of soul and body that threaten mariners. Protect your sons and daughters who work and travel on the waters of the world, and protect also their families that await their return. Star of the Sea, Mother of the Church, give light and strength to those chaplains and lay ministers who bring the love of your Divine Son among mariners. Fill their hearts with a supernatural and life-giving zeal for the apostolate. Star of the Sea, light shining in the darkness, be a guide to those who sail amid the storms and dangers of life. Enlighten the hearts of ardent disciples and bring us all to the safety of heaven's port. AMEN
