KINGDOMTIED August 29 November 28 (The pulpit attire is Green) We are in the season of KINGDOMTIDE, the color of KINGDOMTIDE is GREEN. The color GREEN symbolizes growth. The cloths on the Communion table and podium are changed to coincide with each season of the Christian calendar. KING DOMTIDE runs from August 24 until Advent. KINGDOMTIDE is the newest of the seasons, dating no farther back than the late 1930 s. KINGDOMTIDE gives place for due attention to the eternal presence of Christ and His Kingship with the parallel emphasis upon our stewardship. Its emphasis on the kingship of Christ and His kingdom, challenges us in our daily lives and in every area of our existence. General Theme For This Quarter: THE INESCABLE GOD The study this quarter focuses on the nature of God as the first person of the Trinity (Father). Its three units look at Old Testament texts from the Exodus narrative and from the poetry of Psalm. We hope that you will join us as we are focusing on: UNIT 1 GOD REVEALS These lessons trace God s emerging relationship with Israel. The first three lessons approach the theme through the biblical stories of Moses: God calls Moses, God discloses the terms of the covenant, and the people lose faith in Moses leadership (and God s). In lesson 4, God forgives Israel, and they vow to keep their covenant promises. SEPTEMBER * OCTOBER NOVEMBER CLASSES FOR EVERYONE!! MOBC Christian Education Ministry: A Vital Ministry of the Church What is Christian Education Ministry (CEM)? Christian education, then, is an integral part of the overall ministry of the Church and operates to fulfill the church's mission statement. The Educational Ministry of the church is intentional and under girds every teaching and learning aspect of the ministries of the church. Therefore, Christian education can be defined as nurture of the total person which leads them into a "right" relationship with God; resulting in an unshackling of their mental, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical potentialities. It is ministry with and to person of all ages, socio economic backgrounds, and status in life whereby the educator enables person to deal critically and creatively with emerging issues Christian education prepares Christians for Kingdom readiness. Christian education equips person for living lives in the fullness of who God is. It prods us towards active Christian living and develops lives that are socially, intellectually, emotionally, physically and spiritually aware and responsive. By keeping Christian Education fresh, creative and exciting, generation after generation will come to know god and appreciate their responsibility in answering the question, "What do these stones mean?" The Word of God provides the content for Christian education and calls for a relational style of doing education. By the aid of the Holy Spirit, the Gospel message must be presented in such a fashion that all persons respond in faith and commitment to Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. Therefore, the goal of Christian education is to enable and equip person to learn Biblical content and to interpret the relevance of the Bible to contemporary personal and corporate experiences. MOBC HOW TO ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST INTO YOUR HEART Perhaps while reading the announcements you realized you have never made a Christian commitment. Don t delay that decision! We encourage you to embrace God s love today and receive the salvation that only Jesus Christ gives. Here are five simple steps you can take to find assurance of salvation. 1. Recognize your need. The Bible tell us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23) All of us are sinners, and we must admit our need for a Savior. 2. Repent of your sins. Our sins create a wall that separates us from God. By confessing our sins and turning from them, you will find forgiveness. The Bible promises: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). 3. Believe in Jesus. God sent His only Son to die so that He could pay for all our sins. Put your faith in Him and believe in His power to save you. The Bible says, For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). 4. Receive His salvation. God has given us a great gift in His Son, but we must receive His gift. Thank Him for loving and forgiving you, and ask Him to live in your heart. His promise to us is clear: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God (John 1:12). 5. Confess your faith. The Bible assures us: If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Rom. 10:9). You have been born again and are now part of God s family. Tell someone else what Jesus has done in your life!
