Saint Mark Messenger Mission Statement Here at St. Mark s Greetings in the name of Jesus! March 2015 Lutheran Church and Preschool, we believe in Growing God s Family. You will see this mission statement on our bulletins, business cards, newsletter and other printed correspondence. New nametags are also available. Inside this issue: Recycling 2 Church Council Treasurer s Report 3 Ministries/LWML 4 Well, it is official. The Christmas/Epiphany season is over. That seems a long time ago now, doesn t it? The joys of the yuletide are now way behind us, and we find ourselves in the season of Lent. Lent can be a depressing time of year, what with all the talk of sin, repentance, Jesus death and all. But I would like to remind us all, my brothers and sisters in Christ, that it doesn't have to be that way. It is true that in Lent, we have that yearly reminder in the church calendar of what Jesus endured and suffered. But it should not be depressing to us when we are also reminded in this season that He endured and suffered all these things FOR US. Jesus loves us so much, He was willing to undergo the trials of the cross, so that we would have eternal life. Therefore, as we gather as a Christian family for Lenten services each Wednesday this month, let's do so reminded and thankful for what God has done for us. Be sure and join us here for the Wednesdays of Lent. We will have dinner at 6:00 p.m., and we have church at 7:00 p.m. The theme for our Wednesday Lenten Services is The Lies of Lent. I will see you at worship! God bless. Pastor Erler Lent and Easter Schedule Birthdays and Anniversaries 4 Lenten Dinner & Service at 6pm & 7pm on 3/4, 3/11, 3/18 and 3/25.
