Anywhere Lord, anytime! I m gonna work I m gonna pray I m gonna sing *CALL TO WORSHIP One: We celebrate all of the saints today, All: Those who are fully, physically present, One: Those who have gone on ahead All: To whatever it is that awaits us all, One: Yet who surround us still, All: As a great cloud of witnesses, One: And you! How could it be all saints without you! CCLI License No. 1027861 *HYMN OF PRAISE Rejoice in God s Saints No. 708 *OPENING PRAYER One: A world without saints forgets how to praise and more than that! So let us pray together. All: God of saints and sinners alike, it is a forgetful world. Out of sight, out of mind, could be our motto. But, as guilty of that as we can be, today we re here to remember. We remember sisters and brothers who have died. We see in our minds the faces of loved ones who ve been gone a long time, yet who are woven into the fabric of our lives even now. And we recall your promise of a whole, new creation, that will include and encompass all, reaching beyond all limits and losses, all endings and grief. Doesn t such a promise claim and re-shape this moment, and all that it contains, including us, in Christ? Amen.
THE WORD EXCHANGE OF PEACE ATTENDING TO EACH OTHER As we join in the Ministry of Presence, please sign and pass the forms along the pew and then pass them back paying attention to those around you. Another way of attending to each other is to fill out a yellow prayer concern/joy card and placing it in the offering plate. You are welcome to do that. SCRIPTURE READINGS I Thessalonians 2:9-13 p. 248 Matthew 5:1:12 p. 4 One: All: For the word of God in scripture, within, among, and beyond us, Thanks be to God! THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. SHARING THE BREAD AND CUP (Jesus invites and welcomes everyone to his table. You are invited to come and receive a piece of bread from a server, dip it in the cup and eat. You may also write your prayer concerns on the yellow cards and put them in the plate. Relax. Enjoy communion with each other in the spirit of Christ!)
