Draw a golden image of what you think a statue of gold would look like. Draw a group of people kneeling around it. Then draw three young men standing back from the group. And the king spoke and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, who thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? (Lamentable means regrettable and sad.) 22 DANIEL TRUSTS GOD Read Daniel 6:16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said unto Daniel, Thy God, whom thou servest continually, He will deliver thee. Daniel was a man of wisdom, and he was not worried. He had done right and he knew God would honor him for his faithfulness to Him. Write a poem about Daniel. Include his wisdom, his trust and love for God, and his faithfulness to Him. 23 A RESTLESS KING Read Daniel 6:18 Then the king went to his palace and passed the night fasting; neither were instruments of music brought before him; and his sleep went from him. 10 JESUS IN THE MIDST Read Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like a son of the gods. Draw three men, then draw Jesus standing with them. 11 A CHANGED HEART Read Daniel 3:26b Ye servants of the Most High God, come forth, and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came forth from the midst of the fire. Nebuchadnezzar stood near the edge of the fiery furnace when he called the men out. How do you think the king must have felt? He was admitting that these men served the True and Living God. Can you imagine the change in his heart for him to recognize that God is all powerful and will take care of His own? Write down how you think the king must have felt. 20 A SAD KING Read Daniel 6:14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was very much displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him. Draw a picture of a sad king. Put his hand to his forehead to show him in deep thought. Reread the verse. 21 DETERMINED MEN Read Daniel 6:15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, that no decree nor statute which the king established may be changed. 18 HONORING GOD Read Daniel 6:10b He kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did previously. The he in this verse refers to Daniel. Daniel refused to pray to the king. Did he try to hide when he prayed? Draw a window, then draw Daniel kneeling in prayer to the living God. 19 DEPENDING ON GOD Read Daniel 6:11 Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. Imagine their excitement as they rushed down the street to speak to the king. They finally had something against Daniel, and they thought the king would be happy. What did they want to tell the king? If you need help, look at 18 again. 12 GOD S MIGHTY POWER Read Daniel 3:27b The fire had no power, nor was a hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them. Draw a picture of three men leaving the furnace. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego walk away from the furnace. 13 A KING BELIEVES Read Daniel 3:28a Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent His angel and delivered His servants who trusted Him.
