All: Christ is alive! Alleluia! God s steadfast love endures forever. PRAYER OF APPROACH: All: Holy One, you come to us with power beyond all knowing. You lift all things out of the dust, you breath love into every cell, you call us into communion with you, and you claim victory over death. Blessed be your holy name now and forever. Amen. *HYMN: VU #155 Jesus Christ Is Risen Today
PRAYER OF CONFESSION: All: Merciful God, for the times we doubt and do not serve, forgive us. For the times we forget and not share, forgive us. For the times we become entangled by greed, addiction, and power, forgive us. For the moments our grief takes over our lives, comfort us. For the moments where we cannot find hope, give us hope. God, we recognize the times that we turn away from the suffering around us; when we become too busy, get caught in the routines and tasks of each day, when we become numbed by the growing needs in the community that surrounds us, when we become unfriendly to those who ask for help. God in your mercy, forgive us. Forgive us our greedy hearts when we desire the petty over the profound. Forgive our greedy hands as we hold on to our wants before giving what another needs. God, in your mercy, forgive us. In a confusing world, we seek guidance. We ask that you forgive us our failings, our misunderstandings, and our preoccupations, and move us ever closer to you. May our hearts and lives be enlightened as we tend our fields of compassion and care, releasing that which no longer serves you. Amen.
