Opening Hymn TS854 (Youth Organisations will process and flags will be received during the Opening Hymn) Let evʼrything that, evʼrything that, evʼrything that has breath, praise the Lord. Let evʼrything that, evʼrything that, evʼrything that has breath, praise the Lord. Praise you in the morning, praise you in the evening, praise you when I m young and when I m old. Praise you when I m laughing, praise you when I m grieving, praise you ev ry season of the soul. If we could see how much you re worth, your pow r, your might, your endless love, then surely we would never cease to praise. Praise you in the heavens, joining with the angels, praising you for ever and a day. Praise you on the earth now, joining with creation, calling all the nations to your praise. If they could see how much you re worth, your pow r, your might, your endless love, then surely we would never cease to praise. Let evʼrything that, evʼrything that, evʼrything that has breath, praise the Lord. Let evʼrything that, evʼrything that, evʼrything that has breath, praise the Lord. 1997 Thankyou Music Greeting Come close to God, and he will come close to you. James 4.8 The Lord our God is worthy to receive glory and honour and power, for he has redeemed us. Revelation 4.11; 5.9 Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, in our worship, help us to sing your praise, confess our sins, hear your word and bring our prayers to you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Welcome and Introduction read by a Guide - ( Jodie Reilly ) Penitence -Read by the Cubs. ( Adam Armstrong & Charlie Lynn ) Reader 1 If we say we have never been selfish, we are not speaking the truth. If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just. He will forgive us and cleanse us from all our sins. Let us confess our sins to God our Father. Reader 2 Lord God, our maker and our redeemer, this is your world and we are your people: come among us and save us. We have not looked after the wonderful world you created; Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin. Reader 1 We have seen others being treated badly and bullied. We have not helped them as we should: Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin. Reader 2 We have not stood up against evil, or spoken up for the poor and oppressed; Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin. Reader 1 We have heard the good news of Jesus Christ, but have failed to tell other people about Him; Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin. Reader 2 We have not loved you with all our heart, we have not loved others the way we love ourselves; Lord, be merciful: forgive us our sin.

Absolution God who is both power and love, forgive you and free you from your sins, heal and strengthen you by his Spirit, and raise you to new life in Christ our Lord. Amen. COLLECT Lord, you have taught us that all our doings without love are nothing worth: Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love, the true bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whoever lives is counted dead before you. Grant this for your only Son Jesus Christ s sake. Amen. 1 st Reading read by a Scout ( Daragh Tyson ) First Reading 2 Corinthians 4: 13 5:1 The First reading is from the second letter of St Paul to the Corinthians, chapter 4, beginning to read at verse 13. 13 It is written: I believed; therefore I have spoken. Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, 14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 5 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. This is the word of the Lord. Thanks be to God

Hymn TS 1406 Light of the world, you stepped down Into darkness, opened my eyes, let me see beauty that made this heart adore you, hope of a life spent with you. So here I am to worship, here I am to bow down, here I am to say that youʼre my God, and you're altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me. King of all days oh so highly exalted, glorious in heaven above. Humbly you came to the earth you created, all for love s sake became poor. And I ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. And I ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. Second Reading - read by a Brownie ( Aimee Turner ) (Sung Acclamations) Hear the Gospel of our Saviour Christ, according to Saint Mark, chapter 3, beginning to read at verse 20. Glory to you, lord Jesus Christ. 20 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21 When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, He is out of his mind. 22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons. 23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: How can Satan drive out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27 In fact, no one can enter a strong man s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man s house. 28 Truly I tell you, people can be forgiven all their sins and every slander they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; they are guilty of an eternal sin. 30 He said this because they were saying, He has an impure spirit. 31 Then Jesus mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. 32 A crowd was sitting round him, and they told him, Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you. 33 Who are my mother and my brothers? he asked. 34 Then he looked at those seated in a circle round him and said, Here are my mother and my brothers! 35 Whoever does God s will is my brother and sister and mother. This is the word of the Lord. Thanks be to God (Sung Acclamations)

Hymn 364 Praise Him on the trumpet The psaltery and harp Praise Him on the timbrel and the dance Praise Him with stringed instruments, too Praise Him on the loud cymbals Praise Him on the loud cymbals Let everything that has breath praise the Lord Hallelujah, praise the Lord Hallelujah, praise the Lord Let everything that has breath praise the Lord Hallelujah, praise the Lord Hallelujah, praise the Lord Let everything that has breath praise the Lord by John Kennett 1981 Kingsway s Thankyou Music Sunday School Presentation Sunday School what s it all about? SERMON Hymn TS 1028 We bow down and confess you are Lord in this place. We bow down and confess you are Lord in this place. You are all I need; it s your face I seek. In the presence of your light we bow down, we bow down. Viola Grafstrom 1996 Thankyou Music Indonesian Creed (adapted) Do you believe in God? I believe in God, who is love and who has given the earth to all people. Do you believe in Jesus Christ? I believe in Jesus Christ, who came to heal us and set us free from all form of oppression. Do you believe in the Holy Spirit? I believe in the Spirit of God, who helps each one of us to live the way we should. Do you believe in the Fellowship of the Church? I believe in the community of faith, which is called to be at the service of all people.

Intercessions Led by: A Brownie ( Emily Balfour ) 1. Heavenly Father, today we give thanks to you for all the young people of our parish for those who take part in our Uniformed Organisations and those who attend Sunday School. We thank you for the opportunity given to us to learn more about you, and to grow closer to you. Lord in your mercy hear our prayer. 2. Heavenly Father, we thank you today for our Youth Leaders and our Sunday School Teachers. They give up their time for us. They prepare lessons which help us to learn more about you. Strengthen them in all that they do, and encourage them in their own faith. Lord in your mercy hear our prayer. 3. Heavenly Father, we pray for children throughout the world. We know that we are very lucky that we live in a country that is rich in comparison with many parts of the world. We pray for children who have no food, or clean water, no home, or family. We pray for children who live on the streets of big cities, children who have no school, no doctors and no hospitals. Help us Lord, always to be thankful for all that we have, and to help others whenever we can. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. 4. Heavenly Father, we pray for all those who are sick. We pray for those from our own parish, our families and our community who are sick at home, or in hospital, or in nursing homes. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer. 5. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the Bible and its words of instruction for our lives. Help us to follow the way of your Commandments and guide us to fulfil our duty towards You and our neighbour. Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen. Offertory Hymn 195 (Collection taken up by Rainbows and Beavers) Lord, the light of your love is shining in the midst of the darkness, shining, Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us, set us free by the truth you now bring us, shine on me, shine on me. Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father s glory; blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire. Flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy: send forth your word, Lord, and let there be light. Lord, I come to your awesome presence, from the shadows into your radiance; by the blood I may enter your brightness, search me, try me, consume all my darkness. Shine on me, shine on me: As we gaze on your kingly brightness, so our faces display your likeness, ever changing from glory to glory, mirrored here may our lives tell your story. Shine on me, shine on me: Words & Music: Graham Kendrick (b.1950)
