Bunco Join the fun at the 3 rd and final Bunco Party of the season on Saturday, May 13 th in Dahlen Hall. We will begin serving dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by a dice game called Bunco. It's a game that s easy to learn for all ages. Children are welcome to play and prizes will be awarded. Bring your family and invite your friends or neighbors for Saturday night social time. Looking Ahead Confirmation Banquet will be Wednesday, May 3 rd at 6:00 p.m. with Confirmation on Sunday, May 7 th. End of Year Celebration and Sunday School Teacher Recognition will be Sunday, May 14 th. There will be graduate recognition at both churches on Sunday, May 21 st. Community Table Meal Cannon River will be serving the Community Table Meal in Cannon Falls on Sunday, May 21 st at 5:00 p.m. Please let Chris Klahr know if you can help serve, clean up or bring food. Thank you! Cross of Christ Garage Sale Cross of Christ will hold its annual garage sale noon-3pm on Friday, May 19 th and 8am-3pm on Saturday, May 20 th. Lunch will be served on Saturday. You can start bringing your items from 5-8 pm, Monday-Thursday, the week of sale. If you have large items, please put them in Dahlen Hall. You are responsible for any electronics, furniture or any other large items that do not sell, and you must remove them after the sale. Help is needed for setup, cleanup and on the day of the sale. Proceeds will go to painting the exterior of Dahlen Hall. A Thrivent Action Grant will help with expenses. Help Wanted Cross of Christ and Cannon River are in need of a secretary and Cross of Christ is looking for a custodian. Both positions are part-time and have flexible hours. Please see Dennis Martin, Jim Hill, Jean Kehren or a Cannon River council member by May 14 th if you want to apply.
South Sudan Relief Right now, more than seven million people need humanitarian assistance in South Sudan. The ELCA is poised to respond to this need. Through our long-standing relationships in the region, we are prepared to accompany communities through food distribution, water and sanitation, and psychosocial support. Your gifts to Lutheran Disaster Response are critical to implementing this work. Together, we can provide life-saving aid to our brothers and sisters in South Sudan when they need it most. The Mission Committee is responding to the need in South Sudan by sending $300 to Lutheran Disaster Response. We hope that you will consider making a donation.
