Volume 15, Issue 8 a monthly newsletter of Knightdale Baptist P1 What Happens When We Live? Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life. 1 Timothy 6:17-19 August Birthdays and Anniversaries Baptist Knights Children s Time Schedule On-line Giving Love Connection What happens when I die? P7 Backpack Buddies We have to be those whose faith, whose trust in this freedom Christ grants inspires us to color this life different in the present. We are granted access to the creator of all things, the very one who spoke this world, this life into being, who breathed life into his creation, and see that this magnificent God is asking us to embody his priorities, to live lives of love in redemptive ways. Regardless of what surrounds us, the challenges we face, the pain we endure, we still stand victorious with Christ because we have the assurance of God. P7 Fifth Sunday Sing P8 Fall Senior Adult Rally P8 Staff A theological quandary posed by people for centuries. As believers, we find solace in the answer provided by God s promise in scripture. Along with an understanding to that question, however, emerges yet another one, one that I feel has just as much significance. This question of what happens when I die doesn t pose much of a challenge to the church, because we fall back on the promise of paradise, a place secured in the house God has created. For many, Christianity bears no impact on their everyday lives because it seems too preoccupied with the question, what happens when I die? The impression is Christianity is less and less interested with making a substantial impact now, concerned with the issues and problems of this life. What happens when we die? A question thinkers, scholars, researchers, writers, skeptics, believers and nonbelievers alike have dedicated countless hours and words towards understanding. As followers of Christ, however, the answer to that question is the hope we find in a Savior who invites us to join in his cause, to work in his stead, to exemplify his Spirit, a Savior whose invitation prompts us towards the overarching question of our existence: What happens when we truly live?
