announcements & reminders Big House Sunday Today Mark Van Andel from Hesed Community Church in Detroit will be leading the Big House Sunday today. He will be talking about this exciting ministry located in the Brightmoor neighborhood in Detroit. He will talk about reaching this neighborhood for Jesus and also about opportunities for our church to partner with them in this ministry. Mark will inform us and give us an opportunity to volunteer to partner with Hesed next month. Central American Information Meeting This Monday at 7:30 pm in room 24, Mary Anne Peronne will tell us about the back-stories of the northward migration from Central America. Congregational Meeting Date Mark your calendars! There will be a congregational meeting on Monday, May 20 at 7:00 PM. Please join us as we consider our 2019-20 budget, select new Council members, and reflect on the year past and the year ahead. Council Nominations The council of AACRC is now in the process of evaluating nominations for the positions of Service Deacon and Shepherding Elder for the coming church year starting July, 2019. If there is a member of the church that you think would serve well in either of these roles and you have permission, please send council the name and we will include it in the nomination process. We are asking that all nominations be submitted by Friday, April 19. Thank you, Bill VanderMolen President of Council bvandermolen@gmail.com Hope Clinic Food Drive To address the increased need for food over the summer months, Hope Clinic is having a community-wide church food drive this spring (See bulletin insert or thehopeclinic.org/may). AACRC will be kicking this drive off on April 14. Please pick up a grocery bag with a list of needed food items starting April 7 (on table in fellowship hall) and fill and return to church on April 14. The deacons will transport food donations to Hope. Hope Clinic suggested donations include: whole wheat, low sodium and organic foods, peanut and other nut butters, canned meats, pasta and pasta sauces, breakfast cereals, spices and spice blends, condiments, vinegar, oils and salad dressings. New this year: Let the GEMS shop for you! The GEMS will be shopping for the Hope Food Pantry on Wed. 4/17. If you would like them to shop on your behalf, please watch for the GEMS envelope in next week s bulletin to make a donation. Wine Before Breakfast For Lent, the Campus Chapel is bringing back Wine Before Breakfast, a contemplative service of prayer and communion followed by a light breakfast. All are welcome for this peaceful and reflective way to journey toward Easter. Please join us at the Chapel (1236 Washtenaw Ct.) on Tuesday mornings. Worship is at 7:30, breakfast is at 8:00. Coffee Servers Needed We are in need of two people willing to help set up and serve coffee on Sunday, April 14.
