Church tradition reports the following: 1. John died of extreme old age in Ephesus. 2. Judas Iscariot, after betraying his Lord, hanged himself. 3. Peter was crucified, head downward, during the persecution of Nero. 4. Andrew died on a cross at Patrae in Achia, a Grecian Colony. 5. James, the younger brother of Jesus, was thrown from a pinnacle of the temple and then beaten to death with a club. 6. Bartholomew was flayed alive in Albanapolis, Armenia. 7. James, the elder son of Zebedee, was beheaded at Jerusalem. 8. Thomas, the doubter, was run through the body with a lance at Cromandel, in the East Indies. 9. Phillip was hanged against a pillar at Heropolis, a city in Phrygia in Asia Minor. 10. Matthew was slain by the sword in Ethiopia, Abyssia. 11. Thaddeus was shot to death by arrows. 12. Simon died on a cross in Persia (now Iran). Our Lord doesn t ask modern day disciples to die for Him - only to be willing to live for Him. What price are you willing to pay for your discipleship all because of the power of the Resurrection in those folks lives! Easter people are willing to do ANYTHING so that the Good News of Jesus may be told, enacted, & lived!!! ADOPT-A-BELL Have you ever thought about adoption? We need you to consider adopting a...handbell! Our handbells are in need of a fine tuning that is typically done once every 5 to 10 years. Well...our bells are in need! Would you be willing to "adopt a bell"? Twenty dollars per bell will help get these guys in tip top shape! We need approximately 60 adoptions to happen...feel free to adopt more than one. Perhaps your organization would adopt a few bells... Please make checks out to Tabernacle UMC and write Adopt-A-Bell in the memo line. If you have any questions, please see Paula Ginn or Carla Ely; and as always, we appreciate the support you freely give to the music ministries of our church. Music Committee FELLOWSHIP CIRCLE GENTLY USED CLOTHING SALE April 17, 2015 11am-7pm & April 18, 2015 8am-2pm We will accept your clothing donations for our Clothing Sale on Wednesday, April 15 th from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and Thursday, April 16 th from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Please do- nate your gently used men s and women s clothes from your spring cleaning for our sale in mid- April. The proceeds from our sale in 2013 went to help TUMC Food Pantry, the Backpack Program, TUMC Boy Scouts, Meals on Wheels, Out-of-the Garden Food Pantry, Thanksgiving Turkeys and gifts for the Angel Tree. April is just around the corner and we need your donation to help us with this important Missions Project for the Fellowship Circle! GENERAL UMW MEETING APRIL 19 The general UMW meeting at Tabernacle will be Sunday, April 19 at 2:30 in the fellowship hall. There will be a speaker from Freedom House. Studies show that substance abuse treatment is much more effective for mothers when the family unit stays together; however, only less than 5% of all treatment programs accept mothers and children together. Freedom House in Greensboro provides single mothers and their children with shelter, education, transportation, food, clothing and Christian substance abuse counsel as they move through their recovery program. We are collecting items for Freedom House and ask you to donate by bringing items to the meeting or we will also have a box set up in the commons area. Items in bold are items needed more often. Aluminum Foil, Plastic wrap, Ziploc bags (all sizes), Dishwasher Detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, Lysol, Windex, all purpose cleaner, Laundry detergent, personal hygiene for women and babies, copy paper, stamps, Printer Ink (HP Office jet Pro 8600), Canned goods/non perishables. All women of the church are invited to the meeting to learn about this recovery program in Greensboro. ADULT FELLOWSHIP CASWELL COUNTY TOUR SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 23 RD This trip is a repeat of a trip we made in 2013. It was a very enjoyable and informative trip and many have asked for a second time around. Caswell, the second wealthiest county in North Carolina prior to the Civil War, today is one of the poorest. Many of the homes of the Boom Era (1850s) still stand, some beautifully restored, some vine covered and crumbling. Jack Wagstaff, a native of this area, will be our tour guide. We will visit Rock of Ages Winery in neighboring Person County and have an early lunch nearby at the Flat River Cafe. The restaurant is unique; it is in an adjoining room to a country store that has a wonderful meat department. The food is excellent five star. There was a lengthy article in Our State several years ago praising the food and unique setting. After lunch, we will drive directly to Leasburg, which is in Caswell County. It is a neat village with several nice homes from the 1800s. The first president of Greensboro College was from Leasburg, and his home still stands. From Leasburg, we will travel to Milton, then Yanceyville, making a number of stops to see and hear stories of the past. Departure Time from the church will be 9:30 a.m. Return to the church late afternoon. Bus fare will be collected the day of the trip. Bring cash for lunch and shopping. Please make your reservation by Monday, April 20th by calling Gaynell Faulk at 336-674-5028 or emailing gfaulk2@triad.rr.com.

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE CHILDREN'S MUSICAL: MAY 31ST: The Good News Cruise: Spending Time Soaking in the SON!...And that is exactly what we will be doing...soaking in the promises and peace of Christ! Please come join us and don't miss an opportunity to have fun experiencing the children's witness to the world as we learn very powerful messages to strengthen faith and grow in love for our Savior such as: We all celebrate when the weather is good but how do we, as Christians, handle the "storms" of life? We know God's truth that He is always with us, He gives us strength in all things. God has blessed you with things much more powerful than the things we can see and touch to guide us in life. Rather than maps we have His HOLY WORD to help stay on course. Instead of a radio to communicate with those on shore we have PRAYER to communicate with God. Like a radar we have the HOLY SPIRIT to guide us. All proceeds from the lunch donations go to the Christian Life Center. Thank you in advance for your support of our children's music program!
