THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 2 CELEBRATE RECOVERY Celebrate Recovery is a support ministry for anyone who has hurts, habits and hang-ups and would like instruction, direction, fellowship and encouragement to overcome them through the power of Christ. CR will not meet on Thanksgiving. Lighthouse Christmas Sunday, December 10th 6:00pm Celebrate Recovery meets every Thursday evening: 6:30-8:30 pm in the worship area with a fellowship time beginning at 6:00 pm. You and your family are invited to our Lighthouse Christmas - an all ages, musical celebration of Christ s Birth. This will be held on Sunday, December 10th at 6:00pm at the Lighthouse Church. This year s Lighthouse Christmas consists of children's music; Preschool will sing songs under the direction of Tammy Cole and Kindergarten through 5th grades will sing under the direction of Tyler Krehbiel. We will also have other joyful music of Christmas from our Praise Team and individual guests. Everyone is welcome. Please bring a guest. A full nursery will be provided. Light refreshments will follow. All proceeds will go toward our Haiti well repair program. Menu will include: scrambled eggs, link sausage, hash browns, biscuits/gravy, cinnamon roll, coffee and orange juice. Christmas Eve Service Sunday, December 24th 5:00pm Communion will be served. We would love for you to join us to pray for the needs of our church, nation, and the body of Christ! We meet from 5-5:30 pm every Monday, except the 4 th Monday of the month. On that day, we meet at 7:00pm for a time of prayer and healing. My number is 913-709-7531. Cindy Walters, Prayer Team Coordinator Children Singing Children in preschool through 5 th grade are learning songs for our Lighthouse Christmas program. They will sing for the congregation on Sunday, December 10 th during the 10:00am worship service and again that evening at 6pm. Children will be practicing their performance for Lighthouse Christmas after service on Sunday, Dec. 3rd until Noon. We encourage all children to stay and participate.

We are in need of volunteers; there is a place for everyone that would like to be involved! It is a wonderful way to celebrate the Christmas season with family and friends. Ways to help before the event: Donate cookies - Cookies can be homemade or from a grocery store bakery. Setup Thursday, Nov 30, 8:30am - 2:30pm - Meet at church to load up, then proceed to fairgrounds where we will hang lights/props, setup canopy tents, move tables and chairs, etc. Even an hour or two of help is appreciated. Setup Thursday, Nov 30, 4:30pm - 8:00pm - Finish setup from morning. Even an hour or two of help is appreciated. Setup Friday, Dec 1, 8:30am-noon - Set up of marketplace props, refreshments, etc. Ways to help after the event: Clean-up Sunday, Dec 3, 11:30am: Take down tents, tables, chairs, props, backgrounds, signs, empty trash, clean up fire pits and more. We really need a lot of help with clean-up! Lunch is provided. Costumes: Wash a small group of costumes after the nativity. THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 6 PACA is seeking volunteers for Operation Holiday program PACA Bell Ringing Please participate in sharing with others in our community with the annual ringing of the bell at Wal-Mart. Our church will have two dates this year to ring in the blessings for the holiday season and assist with Salvation Army s work in Miami County. Saturday, December 16th East Door Friday, December 22nd West Door We will be responsible for the time frame of 10:00am - 6:00pm. You may sign up (in one hour time slots) at the Welcome Table on Sunday mornings or call the church office at 294.2400. Approximately 88% of funds collected from the bell ringing is used for Miami County needs. The remaining 12% is used for crisis needs and administrative. This past year, we ve all felt the needs being many and with your help the Paola Association for Church Action (PACA) will again provide a helping hand to those most in need in Miami County this Christmas season. If you would like to make a donation of your time and energy, and maybe your pickup truck, show up at the National Guard Armory at 1010 Hedge Lane Road, Paola, anytime during the following schedule: (We need the help of young adults as well.) Monday, December 11: 8:00am - Noon or so Receive and sort donated and purchased groceries Transfer goods from Food Bank to Armory Tuesday, December 12: 8:00am - Noon or so Pack and sort bags for homebound families Wednesday, December 13: 8:00am - until done Need volunteers with pickup trucks to make deliveries around the county. Pack and sort bags for pick-up by families on Thursday Thursday, December 14: 9:00am Noon and 1:00-4:00pm Assist families with pick-up Friday, December 15: 8:00am - Noon or so Clean up Armory and transfer goods to Food Bank If you have any questions, please contact Cameron Mott at 913-782-2468. Monday morning Nov. 20th we sent 780 boxes to the relay center in Overland Park. All the shoeboxes from our area will be sent to Mexico.
