Lesson 5
Lesson #5 Align Your Energy Energy is at the core of everything. Your mood, your emotions, your get up-and-go, your dreams and aspirations, energy is even at the core of what shows up consistently in your life. Good or not so- good your energy drives everything. The human energy system is made up of multiple layers. The ancient sages developed multiple models or systems to help us understand where energy resides in the body, how it moves in the body, and how you can work with that energy to create change in your physical, energetic, and spiritual being in order to take a more active role in creating direction for your life. For today s lesson we re working with the chakra model. Chakras are energy centers located in one of the energetic layers of your body. We ll be specifically focusing on the seven main charkas run along the center of your body. Before we get started, I just want to take a minute and go over the seven chakras, their locations, and a brief interpretation of what each chakra is related in regards to living life. You can look at your chakra worksheet on page 7 of the workbook if you want a visual to follow along with. -Chakra 1 is the root chakra located at the base of your spine, the tailbone and pelvic floor area. -Chakra 2 is the sacral chakra located at the center of your spine just below the belly button. -Chakra 3 is the naval/solar plexus chakra located at the center of your spine just above the belly button. -Chakra 4 is the heart chakra located at the center of your body at the sternum. -Chakra 5 is the throat chakra located at the base of the neck right in the space between the color bones. -Chakra 6 is the third eye/brow chakra located between at the center of your head between the eye brows. -Chakra 7 is located at the top of the head, the fontanel or crown. To help you really take in the lesson today I ve included the chakra dot to dot worksheet. You should have the worksheet printed, but if not, you can bring it up on your tablet and follow along. You ll also want to have something to write with, a pen or crayon, whatever 29
you ve got handy, or if you re following along on your tablet just grab an imaginary pen. We re going to connect the dots. Starting at your heart chakra, located at the sternum, draw a line down to the naval chakra just above the belly button on the drawing. Now connect the naval to the sacral chakra, and then the sacral chakra to the root chakra. Got it? Okay moving on. Again, starting at your heart chakra, draw a line up to the throat chakra at the base of the neck. Now connect the throat to the brow chakra, then the brow chakra to the crown chakra. You just connected the dots from the heart chakra down, through the lower chakras, to the root chakra, and from the heart chakra up, through the upper chakras, to the crown chakra. Now let me tell you why you did that. The heart chakra serves as a bridge. The lower chakras naval, sacral and root all have to do with physical existence on this planet we call earth. The root chakra is about safety and survival having shelter, food, and sustenance. The sacral chakra is about creation and survival of the species procreation as well as creating what you need to live and be happy, whether it s a home to live in or something pretty to hang in that home. The naval chakra is about personal power the ability to move through life with confidence and purpose. When you connect with the lower chakras it helps ground you to the earth giving you a connection to the body you live in and those energies that support your body in this earthly realm. The upper chakras throat, brow and crown all have to do with spiritual connection, intuition, and insight. The crown chakra is about divine connection guidance, intuition and spirituality. The brow chakra is about clear seeing and discernment clarity, understanding, and seeing things as they really are. The throat chakra is about truth being true to yourself, saying what you mean, and meaning what you say. When you connect with the upper chakras you re tapping into the infinite knowledge of the universe allowing you to live and act from a place of inner knowing and divine order. The heart chakra is the bridge that connects the energies of heaven and earth. Giving you what you need to live as a spiritual being on in this earthly body. The heart chakra is about relationships the ability to love and be loved, maintaining healthy relationships with the people in your life as well as healthy relationships with your surroundings, harmony in your work and home life, and stillness and peace from the world 30
of busyness and constant doing. Your heart holds the secrets to finding a path of joy and ease, a path that will allow you to recognize and embrace your deepest soul desires, dreams, and hopes for your life. Reflecting on what we just talked about return to your chakra dot to dot worksheet. Extend the line from the root chakra down to the center of the earth. Next extend the line from the crown chakra up to the star in the heavens. You just completed a creative exercise that illustrates the meditation you will experience in your morning practice. I will guide you through a similar process using visualization. Thanks for exploring the chakra system with me. Make sure your morning practice recording is downloaded to your computer, tablet, or music player so you ll ready to align your energy first thing in the morning. Goodbye for now, and I ll see you with the sunrise. 31
Practice #5 Align Your Energy Subject: Chakra meditation 1. Come to a comfortable seated position. Adjust yourself so your feet can be flat on the floor, spine tall, without being rigid or strained. Take a moment to connect with your breath. Feel your breath moving in and out of your body. Inhale feel expansion, exhale release. 2. Notice the movement your breath creates in your torso. Feel the sternum rise with the inhale and fall with the exhale. Bring your awareness to your heart chakra, the space at the center of your body just below the sternum. Visualize a ball of light at your heart chakra. 3. Next, bring your awareness to your naval chakra, the space at the center of your spine just above your belly button. Visualize a ball of light at your naval chakra. Now connect the heart chakra to the naval chakra with a string of golden thread. 4. Now bring your awareness to your sacral chakra, the space at the center of your spine just below your belly button. Visualize a ball of light at your sacral chakra and once you ve established that, connect the naval chakra to the sacral chakra with a string of golden thread. 5. Direct your awareness to your root chakra, the space at the base of the spine and the pelvic floor. Visualize a ball of light there and then connect the sacral chakra to the root chakra using that golden thread. Once secured, connect the golden thread down to the center of the earth. Feel the grounding energy of the earth moving up the thread and filling each chakra all the way up to your heart and infusing your whole body. 6. Return your awareness to your heart chakra then move your attention to the base of your throat, the throat chakra. Visualize a ball of light at your throat chakra and once you ve established that, connect the heart chakra to the throat chakra with your golden thread. 7. Become aware of the space between your eyebrows at the center of your head, the brow chakra. Visualize a ball of light here, and when you re ready connect the throat chakra to the brow chakra using your golden thread. 8. Get a sense of the space at the crown of your head, your crown chakra. Visualize a ball of light at your crown chakra. Now connect the brow chakra to the crown 32
chakra with your golden thread. Once that is secured, connect the golden thread up to the stars in the heavens. Feel the connection to the cosmic energy of the universe the divine source that created all things. Feel the energy of that source moving down the thread and filling each chakra all the way down to your heart and infusing your whole body. 9. Allow the energy of the earth and the energy of divine source to blend and merge into your being. Notice how it feels to hold these energies within you. Give yourself some time here to absorb and enjoy this space. 10. When you feel complete take your time to reconnect with your breath and the room you re in before moving into the rest of your day. You can use this practice any time of day to revive and align your energy. Once you become comfortable and familiar with the process you will find that you are able to access these energies very quickly making the act of aligning your energy a fairly simple task. Have a beautiful day. 33
