Introduction What are the Psalms? A psalm is another word for a song to God. The book of psalms is a collection of poems, songs and prayers to God. Sometimes we feel: Happy Sad Afraid Confused Excited Frustrated Thankful

The psalms teach us that we can talk to God about anything going on in our lives. When we are afraid, God helps us with our fears. When we are sad, God reminds us that we are not alone. When we are happy, God wants to hear our good news and share our happiness. This is your special journal of the psalms. You can use the psalms from the Bible to help you create your own collection of songs and prayers to God.

This is the Day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad Today! Psalm 118:24 God is with us when we go to dance class or the library or eat breakfast with our families. Write in some activities that you do on the different days of the week. Monday Tuesday Wednesday

thursday Friday Saturday Sunday What are you happy about as you look at your week?

Psalm 63 I remember you while lying on my bed. I think about you in the middle of the night. That is because you are the one who helps me. It makes me happy to be under your protection! I stay close to you, and you hold me with your powerful arm.

God, I am getting ready for bed. I remember these things from my day and it makes me feel close to you : ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------

PSALM 23 The Lord is my shepherd. I have everything I need. He gives me rest in green pastures. He leads me to calm water. What are some calm places you like to go to in your home or outside? - - - - -

Draw a picture of your calm place:

Psalm 23 Even if i walk through a dark valley, I will not be afraid because you are with me. Your rod and your shepherd's staff comfort me.

When I am afraid, I find comfort by: Talking to. Holding this special toy or object. Thinking of a favorite memory, such as. Hugging or holding hands with and remembering God is always near me!

Psalm 23 You prepare a meal for me in front of my enemies If you had a special party God was giving you, what food and drink would you like Him to prepare?

Who would you invite to your party?

Psalm 23 You pour oil of blessing on my head. You give me more than I can hold. surely your goodness and love will be with me all my life.

My blessings from God: Draw a picture of your blessings:

Shout to the Lord, all the earth... Thank Him, and praise His name. Psalm 100

Psalm 100 talks about giving thanks to God. Using the acrostic, list things you are thankful for in your life that start with that letter T H A N K HIM AND P R A I S E H I S N A M E

Psalm 18 God is the one who gives me strength. He clears the path I need to take. He makes my feet as steady as those of a deer. Even on steep mountains he keeps me from falling.

Sometimes we face challenges that feel like we are climbing a big mountain. Maybe we are learning a new sport, or struggling with a subject at school and feel discouraged about the progress we are making. Psalm 18 talks about a deer climbing a mountain to remind us that God gives us strength, even in challenging situations. What are some challenges you have in life? ASK GOD TO GIVE YOU STRENGTH LIKE A DEER!

Psalm 95 Come, let's bow down and worship Him. Let's kneel before the Lord who made us. Psalm 95 talks about kneeling and bowing. Have you ever tried to say a prayer on your knees? You can give it a try. See what it is like to kneel down with your journal and read Psalm 95 while you are on your knees.

What do you notice about saying the psalm on your knees? How do you feel kneeling or bowing instead of standing or sitting in a chair? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Psalm 96 Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole world sing to the Lord! God is worshipped all over the world in different languages. Arabic.ر ن م وا ل لر ب ت ر ن يم ة ج د يد ة 1 ر ن م وا ل لر ب ي اس اك ن ي الأ ر ض ج م يعا. 2 ر ن م وا للر ب. ب ار ك و English Sing a new song to the Lord!

Make up your own language:

Praise Him! Psalm 96 Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be happy! Let the sea and everything in it shout for joy! let the fields and everything in them be happy! let the trees in the forest sing for joy when they see the lord coming!

Nature shows us Gods goodness. When I go outside with my journal... I hear and it reminds me of God the creator. I see and it reminds me of God the creator. I touch and it reminds me of God the creator. I smell and it reminds me of God the creator.

Be Still and know that I am God Psalm 46:10 God invites us to enjoy quiet time. When we close our eyes and sit quietly, we can use our breath to remind us that God is near. As we inhale, we can say the words "be still" in our head. As we exhale, we can say the words "and know that I am God" in our head. When we do this for a few moments, we begin to feel peace and calm in our lives. You can give it a try.

PSALM:

God, you are like a and when I (noun) think about you, I feel. (emotion) You remind me that I am. (adjective) You have given me gifts and I like to,, and (verb). (verb) (verb) Thank you for these gifts. Please use me to bless. (person)

Psalm 19 The heavens tell the glory of god. And the skies announce what his hands have made. Day after day they tell the story. Night after night they tell it again. they have no speech or words. they don't make any sound to be heard but their message goes out through all the world. It goes everywhere on earth.

Draw a picture of a daytime sky, such as a sunrise or flying creatures in the air. How does the daytime sky remind you of God's glory?

Draw a picture of a night time sky, such as a constellation of stars or a moon. How does the night time sky remind you of God's glory?

Psalm 27:4 I ask only one thing of the Lord. This is what I want most: let ME LIVE IN THE LORD'S HOUSE ALL MY LIFE, ENJOYING THE LORDS BEAUTY AND SPENDING TIME IN HIS PALACE. Imagine living in God's house. What do you think it looks like inside? Describe/draw how you imagine the rooms and inside decoration.

What you think it looks like on the outside? Describe/draw how you imagine the outside of God's house.

PSALM:

Psalm 27 Wait for the Lord's help. Be strong and brave, and wait for the Lord's help. What are some things you need help with right now? Ask God to make you strong and brave as you lean on him for help.

Psalm 36 Your goodness is higher than the highest mountains. Your fairness is deeper than the deepest ocean. Lord, you protect people and animals. Nothing is more precious than your loving kindness. All people can find protection close to you. Who are some people or animals needing God's protection?

Write or draw a prayer for them.

Praise the Lord! Praise God in his temple! praise him in heaven, his strong fortress! praise him for the great things he does! Praise him for all his greatness! praise him with trumpets and horns! praise him with harps and lyres! Praise him with tambourines and dancing! Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes! praise him with loud cymbals! praise him with crashing cymbals! Everything that breathes, praise the lord! Praise the Lord! Psalm 150

Psalm 150 describes the different instruments being used to praise God. What instruments would you use in a song to praise God? Would your song be fast or slow? Would you have a soloist or a chorus of people singing? What kind of dancing would people do when they hear your song?

Psalm 148 praise the lord! Angels above, praise the lord from heaven! DRAW A PICTURE OF AN ANGEL IN HEAVEN WORSHIPPING GOD: Great sea animals and all the ocean, praise the lord! DRAW SEA ANIMALS PRAISING GOD:

Praise him, fire and hail, snow and clouds, and the stormy winds that obey him. Psalm 148:8 DRAW WEATHER PATTERNS PRAISING GOD: Praise him, mountains and hills, fruit trees and cedar trees. - Psalm 148:9 DRAW TREES AND PLANTS PRAISING GOD:

praise him, wild animals and cattle, reptiles and birds Psalm 148:10 DRAW ANIMALS PRAISING GOD: praise him, kings of the earth and all nations, princes and all rulers on earth. - Psalm 148:11 DRAW ROYALTY PRAISING GOD:

Psalm 148:12-13 praise him, young men and women, old people and children. praise the lord's name! Honor his name forever! DRAW DIFFERENT PEOPLE PRAISING GOD:
