Parish Announcements Sunday, July 17, 2016 5 MATTHEW KELLY: DECISION POINT Next Session is July 18 Monday Evening, 6:30-8:00 If you don t have time to pray and read the scriptures, you are busier than God ever intended you to be. THE JOURNEY Have you ever made a major journey or pilgrimage in your life? Most journeys, even if not major, are far more successful with careful planning, coordination, and provisioning. Most people will seek out well-proven travel guides and pay close attention to the details. THE GUIDEBOOK Life is the greatest journey that any of us will ever take and the Bible, within the framework of Sacred Tradition, is the guidebook for our lives. Our journey is a sacred one for it is a pilgrimage to a holy place, Heaven. The world doesn t want us to be pilgrims on a sacred journey. It wants us to be tourists. A pilgrim travels with purpose but a tourist travels only for pleasure. THE QUESTION We are all on this journey together. Will we be pilgrims or will we be Tourists? We have to choose. Come join Father Phil on Monday evening, July 18th, as we explore: The Bible as the Word of God and how it can help us in our prayer lives How God reveals Himself to us personally & collectively How it is organized and fits into the Church s Deposit of Faith How you can become comfortable picking up the Bible and reading it How Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition work together. ~ St. Joseph Marello Adult Formation Catechesis Ministry ~ Above information adapted from Decision Point by Matthew Kelly.
