Look for the Scarlet Thread Sermon Series: Jan. 5-March 2 There are lots of stories in the Bible, but all the stories are telling one big Story: the Story of how God loves his children and comes to rescue them. (Jesus Storybook Bible, pg. 17) Our fall sermon series takes us into the Old Testament stories starting creation of the world through the exodus from Egypt. Notice the sermon series image and the scarlet cord that weaves its way through it. Every Old Testament story points to the need for a savior, a deliverer. This deliverer is Jesus and the scarlet thread represents the shedding of his blood, tying the Old Testament to the New Testament. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved. I love how the Holy Spirit is at work in this city. Madison, as a whole, is a multisite church and I serve as Campus Pastor for the body of Christ that meets at the Gerald R. Ford Middle School. We re called to listen and serve the needs of the school, community, and church body. My passion is to fan into flame gifts-based and team-based vision, ministry, and evangelism! In 2012, I was commissioned as a preaching apprentice under the leadership of Pastor Brad and Pastor David Beelen, preacher at the Square campus. I am passionate about sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and bringing hope to the lost and hurting. I consider it an honor to do that as a preaching apprentice at Madison at Ford. FORD CAMPUS Update from Sarah Kluitenberg Many of you remember that just a few short months ago the Ford Campus blessed Sarah as she set out to teach in Sierra Leone. Pray also that the students and staff will continue to grow in unity this academic year. Fresh Word We will continue to study Paul's letters in the New Testament this Wednesday, 6:30-8:15 pm. Please note a new location at Tall Turf Ministries, 816 Madison Ave SE. This is directly across from the Ford school on Madison. You can enter through the front entrance. Pando Trip! Save the date for a Ford trip to Pando for a time of fun while tubing! We will go out and enjoy the winter weather together on Feb. 2. Stay tuned for more details. SERMON NOTES Look for the Scarlet Thread Sermon Series: Jan. 5-March 2 There are lots of stories in the Bible, but all the stories are telling one big Story: the Story of how God loves his children and comes to rescue them. (Jesus Storybook Bible, pg. 17) Our fall sermon series takes us into the Old Testament stories starting creation of the world through the exodus from Egypt. Notice the sermon series image and the scarlet cord that weaves its way through it. Every Old Testament story points to the need for a savior, a deliverer. This deliverer is Jesus and the scarlet thread represents the shedding of his blood, tying the Old Testament to the New Testament. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved.
