Call to Worship One: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. All: Worship the Lord in gladness, come into God s presence with singing. One: For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever. All: His faithfulness is to all generations. Let us worship God! *Opening Hymn #1 "Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty" Prayer of Confession (in unison) Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. In your mercy forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways to the glory of your holy name. Amen. (A Moment of Silent Confession) Promise of God s Forgiveness One: Hear the good news of the gospel: All: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven, healed, and made whole. One: Know that we have been forgiven, and be at peace! All: The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. Amen! *Congregational Response (Hymn #581) The Giving of our Tithes, Gifts & Selves to God - Offertory Congregational Response (Hymn #606) *Prayer of Dedication WE ENCOUNTER GOD S WORD Time for Children Jr. Sermon Rev. Charles Summers *Reflective Hymn #187 Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us WE RESPOND TO GOD S WORD *We Affirm Our Faith Then Jesus began to speak, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. -Matthew 5:2-12 Prayers of the People & Lord s One: Lord, in your mercy, All: Hear our prayers. *Departing Hymn #783 Master, Let Me Walk with Thee *Blessing One: We have been blessed!
