Paige Weeks Minister of Music 502-222-9925 pkelleyweeks@yahoo.com Covenant UMC Would like to Welcome Melanie Williams! Melanie will be our Interim Minister of Music for the next 3 months While Paige is recovering. Again, Welcome Melanie!!! Covenant Choir & Covenant Bells

From Bishop Joshua Dearest beloved family of Covenant UMC! Hope the festive was excitingly fabulous! Here we were blessed with the youth camp bringing into the fold 80 souls! We also got time to cross to a neighboring country Uganda to preach the Gospel and we had wonderful time for one week up to the starting of the new year in there! We have just returned from the 688km trek. God is good we have accepted to release our departed father to rest with his maker where we shall also follow in God's time. We are determined to start a Bible college called "Life transformation Bible college" We are advanced in our opening January 16th 2018. We have five to seven lecturers willing to start with minimal allowance but not totally nothing. We have advertised and will conduct interviews on the coming week and every time a prospective student call on us. We are to offer diploma in Bible and theology for four years and certificate in biblical studies for two years. The fees shall be very minimal so it might need some support from willing and able brothers far and wide also the ones within. We have declared as church to be collecting special offering for the Bible college to pick! Our three children passed well in their exams and are joining secondary school in the next two weeks! We have one who was in secondary school David "friend to Diana" who used to read the books word to word. He s going to the university! The new challenge is the fees for all!! We highly depend on your prayers and the grace of God to educate our children as we continue to faithfully serve in the church and college as staff. We highly covet your prayers in all these as without it nothing shall take off! We hope you had a great birthday for Christ too! With gifts for the Lord our savior! May the Lord our born King bless and supply all your needs to the very measure you need it Amen and Amen. Happy new year and blessings to you and your beloved Children!! Bishop Joshua

Most of us are anxious about the future of The United Methodist Church. We are not sure what it is going to look like in the next few years. The Commission on the Way Forward has been meeting over the last year and they have made a preliminary report to the Council of Bishops. There will be a district wide event to discuss the work of the Commission. Bishop Fairley and Julie Hagar Love will host the event on Tuesday, February 13th at 6:30 PM at Christ Church in Louisville. The event is for clergy and laity, therefore, please invite your laity to attend. There will also be a time for discussion, so plan to sit with the lay persons from your church. If you need childcare please reserve by calling the district office no later than February 1st at (502) 491-7091. Peace, Gary R.
