To date, $109,752.00 has been pledged from 380 Saint Mary donors. In addition, a ho of oer programs and Human Services are provided which NO single parish could provide on its own. Our parish and e Archdiocese are ONE. Bo need your sacrificial support. We are asking EACH FAMILY to a make a financial commitment to our AAA. Those donors who share a portion of what ey have, are e fir ones to benefit from eir own sense of gratitude of God. Envelopes can be found in back of church. CHILDREN'S CHOIR BAKE SALE March 24/25 Help support e Children's Choir Bake Sale THIS WEEKEND AFTER all Masses.

From e Paor March 25, 2012 5 Sunday of Lent Jesus said, I am troubled now. Yet what should I say? Faer, save me from is hour? But it was for is purpose at I came to is hour. Faer, glorify your name. Then a voice came from heaven, I have glorified it and will glorify it again. Jesus said, This voice did not come for my sake but for yours And when I am lifted up from e ear, I will draw everyone to myself. [John 12: 12-33] To help open e treasures of e revised Roman Missal, each week I m giving a reflection on e ree Mass orations of at day, gleaned from e book Essential Presidential Prayers and Texts. I m truly amazed at e eological dep and beauty of ese prayers; I hope you are, too! 5 Sunday of Lent Collect By your help, we beseech you, Lord our God, may we walk eagerly in at same charity wi which, out of love for e world, your Son handed himself over to dea. My Sacrifice and Yours. Wi Holy Week on e horizon, today s orations make e bold reque at we might partake in Chri s Passion; ey also ask God to help us. To be part of Chri s Passion, we mu unite our own sufferings and sacrifices wi His Cross made present in today s Euchari. That s why e prie now says, Pray at my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable Since God expects EVERYONE to sacrifice someing in union wi Chri s Sacrifice, what will you offer up today? Obviously, e venerable Morning Offering is ill true: O Jesus rough e Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, sufferings of is day, in union wi e Holy Sacrifice of e Mass roughout e world. I offer em for all e intentions of your Sacred Heart; e salvation of souls, e reparation for sin, e reunion of Chriians; and in particular for e intentions of e Holy Faer is mon. Amen. [Do you ill say is prayer each morning?] 5 Sunday of Lent Prayer over e Offerings Hear us, almighty God, and, having inilled in your servants e teachings of e Chriian fai, graciously purify em by e working of is sacrifice. Word & Sacrament. Like ose preparing to become one wi us rough Baptism and e oer Eaer Sacraments, we need God s help to be faiful Chriians. And God offers us all e help we need at each Mass: rough His Word proclaimed from Scripture and in e homily and en rough e Euchari, we learn e teachings of our fai. For what we hear once happened in biblical days now happens again - at each Mass! And if we receive God s Word into our minds and hearts, and allow His Son s Real Presence in e Euchari to make us what we receive in e form of bread and wine, en we will be purified by Chri s Presence working wiin us. However, Chri s Real Presence wiin us, and God s Word which we heard, MUST be put into action if it is to be of any value to us or to e world around us. What will you do wi e help God gives you today rough Word and Sacrament? 5 Sunday of Lent - Prayer after Communion We pray, almighty God, at we may always be counted among e members of Chri, in whose Body and Blood we have communion. United As One. The sad reality of Chriian DISunity is not only a scandal at lessens our impact on e world, e sad fact at all Chriians cannot agree on what is necessary for us to share in e One Bread and One Chalice harms e Church itself! To be counted among e members of Chri means at ju like any oer group or organization, we have met e obligations and requirements of membership. As Saint Paul said in his chapters 10 & 11 in his fir Letter to e Corinians, ose who share in e Euchari worily MUST be one in mind and heart wi e teachings of e Apoles, which have been faifully safeguarded and passed on to us rough eir successors, e bishops. Paul adds at ose who receive Euchari, even ough ey disagree - or worse, publicly contradict ese teachings - bring condemnation upon emselves! And so, as we go for to proclaim e Gospel, is prayer reminds us to maintain our unity wi e teachings of Chri and His Church - in ought, word and deed. Are you one wi e Church and its teachings? Wi God s love and my prayers, Reverend Michael J. Kreder

However, ere is ill work to be done! We need e support of everyone who calls Saint Mary Church eir parish and spiritual home! Many of you have written or told me at you believe our renovated church and outdoor improvements will enable us to do even more wonderful ings in e Lord's name! Your kind words are always uplifting. As you may know, we have asked each family to make a pledge of $3,000.00 or $75.00 a mon for irty-six mons. This comes to a sacrifice of about $2 a day (less an a Starbucks cup of coffee). Since is campaign was based on equal sacrifice and not equal giving, some would be able to afford much less, oers much more. I cannot emphasize equal sacrifice and not equal giving, enough because only you know what is a sacrificial gift. We do not want anyone to go wiout e normal ings; we need to suain our lives in is blessed corner of e ear to which we have been blessed to live, while on e oer hand, if it doesn t hurt at all, it is not a sacrifice eier. I ask all of you to pray and look at your financial means and obligations and if you have not made a sacrificial gift, may consider to do so. If everyone does what ey can we can continue to do great ings. Any pledge or gift in any amount will be gratefully accepted. Your pledge and sacrifice will make it possible to provide a rong future for our beloved parish. We should be grateful to all ose at have gone before us and left us wi e wonderful ings we presently enjoy. It is now our opportunity to leave our mark and legacy on future generations and make Saint Mary Parish ronger. Please, feel free to call e parish office (201) 438-2200 if you have any furer queions. I ank ose who have given eir support and to ose who are ill considering making a pledge, ank you too. Consider having your name on a Memorial plaque hung on e wall for e Contributors of e Recapture e Dream Campaign. It's not too late! CONFESSIONS... next Saturday will be heard at 3:30 p.m. inead of 4:00 p.m. This will be your LAST CHANCE before Eaer for reconciliation.
