The theme is Jars of Clay taken from II Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. Learning workshops, worship, main speakers, along with a number of meals are scheduled. Find out more at www.lcmctexas.org. Secondly, the NALC annual Luther Week is August 14-17 th in Denver, Colorado. The annual Women of the NALC event is also happening at the same time. Go to www.thenalc.org for further details. One of the topics of discussion and vote this year will be a proposal to add some regional bishops to our lean NALC structure. By adding regional bishops we would be able to have a closer relationship to the national church. Having more bishops would make the bishop s task more available to us. Your prayers and participation are welcomed. Pastor Joel Mission Statement: To discover and respond to our call TO KNOW JESUS TO FOLLOW JESUS TO SERVE JESUS in unique ministries.

KNOWING &FOLLOWING Jesus as His DISCIPLE How will YOU intentionally invite Jesus to TRANSFORM & TRAIN you? How are YOU intentionally growing as a DISCIPLE, an apprentice, a student of Jesus himself? Consider the acronym at the following link. Each letter represents a facet of being TRANSFORMED and TRAINED by Jesus himself. For you, which facet needs to be strengthened? How will you grow in that facet? DISCIPLE LINK: http://www.hopelutheran.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/disciple-acronym-cright.pdf Being a disciple is not about earning our Lord s love and salvation for that's available for free if one wants it; rather, it is about being transformed and trained so that you can be effective for continuing Jesus kingdom work.
