THE 700 CLUB CANADA On Guard by Brian Warren Co-host, The 700 Club Canada This month, we are once again reminded of the enormous price of the freedom we enjoy because of the brave men and women of a generation past who fought on our behalf. But let us remember the mission, as well: He shall have dominion also from sea to sea (Psalm 72:8 kjv). The battle is far from over. What once we took for granted has gone in the closet, says Ed Hird, Anglican rector and author of the book, Battle for the Soul of Canada. A lot of things that used to be private have gone public and a lot of things that were public have been driven into the private realm. This generation is truly being summoned, like very few before, to claim and maintain an Ezekiel 22:30 posture. Yet to do so, we need the John 17 (niv) Power of Partnership : May they all be as one, Father, as You are in Me and I am in You. May they belong to Us. Then the world will believe that You sent Me. Through being a professional athlete I learned to be victorious on a team. The five most important words are, I Need You to Survive. The four most important words are, What Do You See? The three most important words are, I Am Sorry. The two most important words are, Thank You, and the single most important word is, We. It takes teamwork to make the dream work! Our King has already secured us the victory in the invisible. Now let s work together on our knees to bring it to pass in the visible! Healing grace of God Father John had fallen and broken his neck, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. With almost no hope to ever be able to walk again, he resigned himself to God s will... but that was when things began to change. Breaking down the wall Jessica always felt as if she would never be able to live up to the expectations of her parents, so when she became addicted to porn at a young age, she was terrified to let anyone know of her problem. Tune in to watch her inspiring story. Remembrance Day November 11 On this day we pause to honour the men and women who have served Canada during times of war and conflict, especially those who have given their lives to protect our freedom and safety. This also leads us to remember the One who paid the ultimate price for us all, the Lord Jesus Christ. Follow 700 Club Canada
THE 700 CLUB CANADA Sometimes God Whispers; Sometimes He Roars by Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson Co-host, The 700 Club Canada Please pray for me. I did not listen to God s voice, as you said. I m in deep trouble now. Getting this text message from a man that I had met on a plane several months earlier was very unsettling. He said he was watching The 700 Club Canada and I had just read Psalm 69:1-3 (niv): Save me, O God, for the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in the miry depths, where there is no foothold floods engulf me. I am worn out calling for help. These verses were now the desperate cries he was living. I remembered well the conversation on the plane. I had run into a modernday Jonah. This man was running from God. He had lost much of his life, love and reputation to his rebellion against the voice of the Holy Spirit. I told him, God is whispering for you to come back, but He will roar if you do not heed the still, small voice. I didn t know what it all meant, but suddenly it was clear. I told him I would pray. My friend was grateful, and over the next few weeks as court appearances and judgements were rendered against him, I saw the beautiful breaking of his willful spirit and a turning in surrender to Almighty God. He has had to face some difficult consequences, but his message to me today said, I have a strong feeling God is making a new way for me, like you said... I ve been in a place of prayer and fasting and just needing God to reveal to me.... I just want to know what He wants me to do. The love of Father God had brought the necessary pain to bring my friend to repentance. May we all heed the whisper so that we avoid the roar. JERUSALEM DATELINE CBNNEWS.COM NOV 8 THE BALM OF GILEAD Israel is in a period of rebirth. The Bible promises the Jewish people a land flowing with milk and honey, and it appears that this promise is coming true in Israel. The Israeli cow produces more milk in a year than cows in the U.S., the European Union, and Australia. Israel has been able to revive the Balsamon tree, better known as the Balm of Gilead. Even the Dead Sea is giving life literally. The minerals that it produces have healing properties. NOV 22 SMALL PAPYRUS DOCUMENT DISCOVERY A small papyrus document was recently found in the same area where the Dead Sea Scrolls were unearthed. The document dates back to the First Temple period in the 7th century B.C. In fact, this discovery is the earliest mention of Jerusalem to ever be found outside of the Bible. This case will have profound effects on religious freedom in Canada. NOVEMBER 24 S-206, Anti-Spanking Bill This Bill is an Act to amend the Criminal Code and will, if passed, remove a provision of the Criminal Code that permits parents to use limited, minor physical force for disciplinary purposes. This is a choice that must be respected, since every child responds differently to different forms of discipline, and only the parents know what works best for their child. Reaching Out to Children of the Incarcerated I enjoyed the swimming, the games, and the people, but then I was introduced to Jesus Christ. Angel Tree Camper Angel Tree Camping This year, The 700 Club in Canada partnered with Prison Fellowship Canada in an effort to stand with and show love to many children of incarcerated parents. Over the summer we helped with their Angel Tree Camping program, in which children were given the opportunity to build fun and lasting memories by attending a Christian summer camp. Across the country, 25 Christian camps opened their doors to these children. The children were strengthened in their relationship with God, mentored by caring leaders, and given the chance to enjoy their childhood despite the pain of not having their parent(s) in their lives. Your generous and faithful giving enabled many children to experience the love of Jesus through the summer camps some for the first time. Angel Tree Christmas Christmas can be a wonderful time with family, but for some it is very lonely. Imagine how difficult it is for children whose parent is incarcerated. These children are often missing their parent dearly, confused about why they aren t home for the holidays. Prison Fellowship Canada s Angel Tree Christmas program ensures that incarcerated parents have the chance to give their children a Christmas gift. Local sponsors purchase, wrap and deliver the gift with a handwritten gift tag from the child s parent. Through a network of churches and individual sponsors, Prison Fellowship Canada is able to reach out to children of the incarcerated with the love of Jesus. This year, for approximately four weeks, a volunteer of the Angel Tree Christmas program will set out to deliver gifts to indigenous children across Northern and remote regions of Canada. Together with Prison Fellowship Canada, The 700 Club Canada hopes to sponsor 400 indigenous children for just $30 per child. With your support, we can bring joy and generosity to these children who are so often left in need. We ask for your prayers and support to connect with more families across the country this Christmas season. This Christmas, thousands of children will hear the message of God s love through the sending of His Son Jesus the perfect gift, and our salvation. We believe it is of the utmost importance that this message be shared with children living in the harsh conditions of Northern Canada. Do you feel the Lord calling you to be part of this vision? Prayerfully consider sending your gift today to sponsor a child this Christmas. Jesus said, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these (Matthew 19:14 niv). SEEN ON THE 700 CLUB Your Questions, Honest Answers WITH PAT ROBERTSON QAs part of the born-again experience, we must allow Jesus to give us a new nature. Do we have to be completely free of sin if we want to get into heaven? AThere s nobody who is ever going to perfect himself. Jesus Christ is the answer to getting to heaven. And in Him, you have complete forgiveness of your sin. All sin will be forgiven, because of the blood of Jesus. And Titus 3:5-7 says, He saved us not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Because of His grace, He made us right in His sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life. There s no works, and no amount of self-cleansing you can do. So don t try to free yourself from sin. Let the Lord do it, and take His grace. And grace means unmerited favor. That s what you have, and that s what is going to get us into heaven. It s the sacrifice of Jesus not works that we have done. Do you have a question for Pat? Fixing Our Eyes Upon Jesus by Gordon Robertson, CBN Chief Executive Officer Obeying His Commands, Empowered by His Promises With all the problems in the world today, it s easy to focus on the storms and turmoil. Instead, we should be looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus is the answer to every human need. He will provide. He will deliver victory not based on what we do, but on what He has done. All we need to do is believe Him. Peter was the only disciple to step out onto the water while the others stayed in the boat. Even so, when he looked at the wind and waves, he began to sink. Matthew 14:31 tells us that Jesus caught him and asked, Why did you doubt? We make a big deal about how much faith we have in God; it s a bigger deal that God has faith in us. He believes we can do what He has called us to do, yet it s easy to waver and doubt. When the Israelites refused to enter Canaan because of the spies report about giants, Joshua said not to fear them, for they are our bread (Numbers 14:9). Joshua was a man of faith and of power. His perspective was that with God all things are possible; God has given us the land, and our enemies will be turned into our nourishment. Be strong and of good courage, do not be afraid, nor be dismayed ~ Joshua 1:9 Forty years later, God encouraged Joshua before leading the people into battle: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9). When God says not to be afraid, He s preparing us that things may not be easy. Yet first He says, Have I not commanded you? From God s perspective, when He commands, it s a done deal. When God says, Let there be light, there is light. Then He promises, The Lord your God is with you wherever you go. We also hear God s command and promise in the Great Commission: Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20). What God has commanded, He will accomplish. We simply need to do our part and proclaim the Good News. And as we obey Him, we have His assurance in Hebrews 13:5: I will never leave you nor forsake you. God bless you. Scripture is quoted from the NKJV. This teaching was given during a CBN staff chapel.
